OMG: Zayn Malik Noticeably Missing From One Direction's 2014 MTV EMAs Acceptance Video

One Direction was the biggest winner at the 2014 MTV European Music Awards last night, taking home major wins for Best Pop, Best Live and Biggest Fans. Since the guys weren't able to attend the awards ceremony, they recorded a video in lieu of an appearance, but Directioners noticed a big problem — Zayn Malik wasn't in the video!

The guys didn't even offer an explanation for why their bandmate was missing, which made everyone even more worried.

Fans started freaking out that the rumors about Zayn leaving the band were true.

Today I wonder if zayn is actual a member of 1D or not? And it's not the 1st time he doesn't appear in a video... #EMA2014 Where is Zayn??

However, EMAs presenter Laura Whitmore confirmed that he's still involved with One Direction, but he was just feeling too sick to record their acceptance speech with them.

“Zayn was ill that day – he hasn’t left the band, don’t worry!” she said.

Even if he was just sick at home in bed, that sounds pretty serious for him not to be with his bandmates. We hope he's feeling better! He still showed up for their livestream yesterday, so his illness probably wasn't serious.
