As the time grew closer, she paced and grew worried. Part of her wanted him there when she left. It would help her more. But another part wanted him to stay away when she left. It would only break her corazón more. Either way, she knew she would go. The team had many strong members, but there was only so much they could do against Satstruiku and his power.
And his vampire followers. She had told him to come alone, but she knew he wouldn't. He never did. Nevertheless, he was the strongest creature she had ever faced. And she knew in her corazón that he was too powerful for any evil o good that faced him. She had seen that first hand.
“You're only making yourself even más nervous.”
She nodded not mostrando her surprise at Devin's presence.
“Your thoughts were unguarded. I hope tu don't mind.”
“No. It's my own fault.”
Devin came further into the room. She stood a few feet away and watched as Tara paced.
“How do tu plan to get away?”
“I don't.”
“Who do think will rescue you?”
“No one.”
Devin nodded.
“I suppose tu think we won't fight for tu to stay here.”
“I intended to keep it that way.”
“And tu expect me to not interfere?”
“You won't get a chance.”
Devin nodded again.
“I see. It was a pleasure being with you.”
“Same to you, Angel.”
Devin gave a small smile and left the room. Tara sighed and leaned against the wall. She wasn't so sure about this anymore. But she had no choice. It was already in action.
