The Great Gatsby por F. Scott Fitzgerald.
If tu saw the movie, believe me tu need to read it for a real experience.
If tu haven't read it, make sure tu do before your time comes. If tu have, then tu know why I think it's the single greatest novel I've ever read. The symbolism and the colorful descripción Fitzgerald employs are like the writings of God..no joke.
For example:
"The wind had blown off, leaving a loud, bright night, with wings beating in the trees and a persistent organ sound as the full bellows of the earth blew the frogs full of life." (pg 20)
"The lights grow brighter as the earth lurches away from the sun, and now the orchestra is playing yellow cóctel, coctel music, and the opera of voices pitches a key higher. Laughter is easier minuto por minute, spilled with prodigality, tipped out at a cheerful word. The groups change más swiftly, swell with new arrivals, dissolve and form in the same breath; already there were wanderers, confident girls who weave here and there among the stouter and más stable, become for a sharp, joyous moment the center of a group, and then, excited with triumph, glide on through the sea-change of faces and voices and color under the constantly changing light. (pg. 21)
That's just the small taste, tu guys really got to read this. And if you're a raging romantic like me, this is definitely a novel for you. It's an oddly tragic spin on a lifestyle that seems to be anything but tragic, beautifully written and always good every time tu read it.
If tu don't like really frothy romantic stuff, though, tu can still enjoy the excellent escritura and the interesting plot dynamic. :)
Btw, I suffer from a raging crush on Carey Mulligan after seeing the film XD....
;) Read it!

Life's like a rollercoaster,
Don't waste the ride.
Live it up all the way,
because today's your last day
What would tu do?
Would tu cry a little, scream a little, think it's all pretend.
o go into silence until the very end...
Would tu amor the ones tu hate the most o be the person tu hide?
Would tu pretend that you're ok but really scream inside?
Would tu try and keep the sun from setting as your last día ends?
Knowing you'll never see it rise...
Tomorrow I'll be somewhere else tu say as tu close your eyes.
what can I do?
I'm self-centered, self-induldged, self-absorbed, hateful, short-tepered, implusive, in a complete state of denial, confused and lonely, yet I don't try to think.
a creature of the night
a princess of darkness
I long for light
colors
but all is midnight
and my only companions are the moon and the darkness
thought it comforts me when no one can
I wish to be out of darkness for once
to be clear, understood, unquestioned, and loved.
but who am I to ask for this?
who am I to want this?
is that what makes me human?
why?
all I want to know is why?
Step, creak, step, creak! the floor boards speak to me as I slowly tremble on its hard, splintery wood. Each step feels so daring. I feel danger crawling up my dangling spine. Thump, thump, my corazón tries to refuse to my wishes of moving forward. Nothing has happened so far.
I carefully make my way towards the forbidden wooden chair. Creeeeeeek! goes the asiento as I lower my self to its level and sit on it. SHHHHHHHH!
“What was that?” I whisper to my self with my eyes wide open. I slowly start to climb the fence to view the streets of emptiness and quietness. My corazón starts to beat even louder. Thump, thump. I slowly turn my anxious head to look. But it was only a car passing por my house.
