Nah, not really. lectura does help tu become a better autor though as tu can get a feel for different sentence structure, styles, descriptions, etc. But tu don't have to read something every time tu write.
If escritura is something tu want to pursue, whether personally o professionally, then yes. To become good at writing, tu must read and notice the author's style. This is the only way I've improved in my writing. If I had never read as much as I did, I would not have improved my escritura to the point it is at today. As they say, it is important to read as much as tu write.
Of course, tu can always have someone read and critique your work; however, tu won't gain the same amount of knowledge this way, nor as fast. If lectura isn't something you're into, then I suggest finding libros that will really interest you. Think of genres tu like and look up some popular novels on it.
If tu want even más help, think of what fan fictions tu might be interested in and read some. Don't just read them, though, mentally critique them. Critiquing other's works will help tu critique your own.
