Why does Voltes V’s “Ten-Ku-Ken” (Sword of Heaven) was called “Laser” sword in Philippine television?

There is nothing “Laser” about Voltes V’s “Ten-Ku-Ken”. In the anime series, the “Sword of Heaven” (Lightning Sword, Sky Sword) seems to have been forged from an alloy that’s stronger than the strongest steel. It was extruded from Voltes V’s V-shaped chest plate in the same manner as an antenna is pulled out from a transistor radio. The sword then acts as a giant lightning rod that energizes itself further.
The “laser” may have been ‘coined” por Filipino script writers perhaps influenced por the popularity of estrella Wars cine in those times.
