Well, I'm not the biggest fan of Jacob. But, I don't hate him. At least, not like some fans do. I don't approve of the things he does sometimes. Well, a lot of the times. New Moon, he was fine. He was an innocent kid, dragged into the mystical world of vampiros and werewolves. He was going through things, and Bella was obviously going through stuff. They sort of helped each other. As friends. When Edward came back into the picture, that's when my tolerance for Jacob ran out. At the end of New Moon, Edward was thanking Jacob for being there for Bella. The most sincerity anyone could give in an apology, yet Jacob spat in his face. And doing the juvenile thing as revealing the bikes to Charlie... to get back at Bella... I didn't find that very nice and that was the beginning of my irritation for Jacob. In Eclipse, there are many many reasons why Jacob irritates me. And Bella as well. Anyways, he pursues Bella when she's made it clear she wants to be friends. It's Bella's fault for leading him on, but still. As a friend, tu would respect your friend's wishes. When he kissed her the first time, he violated her space. When she violently reacted to the kiss, and broke her hand, he laughed in her face. Every little thing that Jacob did from there on irritated me. He knows Edward's abilities and he uses that against him... His mental imágenes of Bella in pain. And the segundo time Jacob kissed Bella.... He played on her feelings. She was in a vulnerable state at the time. All her family, both human and vampire family, and her friends were all going to war because of her. They could be injured o even hurt. And their death would be on her hands. When Jacob threatened to kill himself, that wasn't noble at all. That was a childish attempt to get what he wanted. And he knew it would work. He played on her vulnerability and used that to his advantage. He "fought dirty" so to speak. And I can't even include Breaking Dawn. Because he was not the same character. None of the characters were to be honest. They did things that they wouldn't have done in the anterior books, and I hardly include BD in my respuestas because it's not the same material. So I'm just going to skip it. I never saw Jacob as someone preventing Edward and Bella to be together. Because he wasn't. Him and Bella were never a couple. Bella never left Edward. I knew they would always be together. But, Jacob's character irritates me because of what he does. His way of seeing things. His actions and his solutions for some problems.
