“Just tell us!”
“I already told you! I don’t remember!” Stilere yelled. “All I remember is having this headache and something and then when I was walking this weird feeling and then I opened my eyes…but I know something happened, I just can’t remember!”
Zaria opened her mouth to say something else but I cut her off. “If she doesn’t remember, she doesn’t remember. Were just gonna have to…jog her memory back, yeah, that’s it.”
“And how exactly are we going to do that?!” A hysterical Edith boomed.
“Edith lower voice please!” Alex yelled, rubbing his ears.
I sighed. “We’ll find a way, okay? Don’t gang up on me, I’m just throwing out suggestions why tu guys accuse!”
“I’m not accusing her!” Zaria yelled. “I just… look she fainted, fainted! That’s not good, especially with the book! We have to be careful!”
“Too late for that,” Stilere dicho miserably. “My mom knows and she’s making it pretty clear that she wants compensation, comida checking, any ill kids in school. My fainting may be mentioned on the news if my mom gets her way.”
Iris sighed. “This is such a big mess, and were fighting? We have to do something, anything that gets us off radar, o at least get the book far away, tu know put it in some chain book holding thing-y. Like a chest!”
Something weird and a bit disturbing happened, I swear I saw Stilere’s pupils widen a bit, then her actual eyes widened as she gasped in realization.
“A chest!”
“What about a chest?” Brooklyn asked.
“My fainting had something to do with a…chest?” Stilere shook her head. “No, no, no, I think I found it. But….”
“Uh…I hate to burst your bubble but tu can’t be in two places at the same time, tu were on the floor unconcious, not somewhere finding a book.” I dicho gently.
“No…I was walking…then I was falling…then I was flying…”
We all looked at each other alarmed, Stilere was losing it. Edith sat beside her, gently touching her shoulder. “Sweetie,”
“The ocean…the ocean…the chest is in the ocean…the ocean….,” Stilere kept reapeating it as if it was a chant.
Mikey furrowed his brow. “What ocean?”
Edith turned to us quickly, her eyes wide. “The ocean! Where we found the book! It was in an ocean!”
Of course!
Stilere was rocking back and forth on her knees, looking scared and vulnerable. I shuddered. “Did tu think she saw something else? Something she couldn’t remember?”
Darren shook his head. “How did she even see it in the first place?!”
“The book,” Alex dicho simply, “must’ve dado her a super power, whatever it gave her has side effects.”
Brooklyn scowled. “I hate side effects, always another flaw.”
“Okay, come on guys, we have to go to the ocean,” Alex stands up.
I look at him. “Are tu insane! Stilere’s in this trance and tu want to go to the ocean now?! It’s almost dark!”
Alex rolled her eyes. “Fearless leaders are wonderful leaders, dearie. We’ll come back, let’s just go and find the stupid chest, it’ll be lead wouldn’t it.”
“But what if it’s not there?” Abe questioned. “What if we went out there for nothing?”
Alex seemed a loss for words. “I-”
“We’ll go tomorrow morning,” Abe said. “Right now let’s take care of Stilere. She needs us.”
And we stay, but throughout the hours I could feel a tremble course through me, dreading what’s to come.

I will not be under your tyranny
Your cruel and oppressive force
Yes, maybe tu should be my leader
But that doesn't mean I should follow tu all the time
Do tu know he's got tu bound
Under ropes and chains of cruelty
Well, I don't wanna be a follower
If it means I have to be a killer
No, I'm not exactly kind-hearted
But that doesn't mean I have to kill, kill, kill
I don't wanna be just a senseless follower
I have a heart, I have a soul, so I don't follow you
I don't just wanna be a follower
So I don't give a fuck bout what tu do, do, do
But I myself will not give in to the tyranny
So you'll watch me leave
No one's gonna stop me
Look, I'm walking out the doors of tyranny
And I'm not gonna be a senseless follower
Ever again in my life.
