Chapter 35
Qualities of a hero
“I brought tu your favorito! foods, deserts, etc. Should hold tu for awhile.” Jess says, handing me a steamy plate.
“What are tu planning on doing, Jess?” I ask, confused, but grateful she wasn’t starving us. “What’s your motive?”
“Sorry, can’t give tu all of my secrets, you’ll know soon,” Jess paused. “But right now, eat, strengthen your bones.”
I take a bite, it’s delicious. “I just don’t understand.”
Jess pats my head. “You will one day.”
She walks up the stairs and closes the door, and I continue eating, not even caring if she poisoned it because it tasted so good. I ponder my thoughts, Jess was planning something, it had to be.
But what?
I freeze when I hear the front door slam a few minutos later, and I carefully place my hand on the muro to get a vibe if Jesica was still here. No vibe at all. This was my chance!
I carefully and quietly tiptoed up the stairs, put the key in the lock and twisted it in any ways. I smiled when I heard a click, and I opened the door. Bingo! Finally I was out of the basement!
I closed the door quietly and looked at the nice place. It was beautiful, in a sinister kind of way. First their was light, then their was dark. A vase held a bunch of dead flores while a beautifully colorful carpet lay on the floor. I made my way across quickly, replaying Jess’s words of where the girl’s were.
Serache’s in the basement, Meredith’s friends in a room, and Meredith herself the kitchen.
I look for the cocina it takes sometime but I do find Meredith out cold tied up, hands tied to legs, looking very painful. I hurry to get the cocina cuchillo and start sawing off the ropes, it takes time but since I’m persisten and stubborn it takes faster than normal.
Meredith’s eyes flutter open, upon seeing me, and seeing that I was taking the ropes off, her eyes feel with relief as tears prick at the corner. I take the tape off her mouth and she silently coughs. I help her up, and help her walk on her unsteady feet.
“Were going to get the other’s,” I whisper and she nods.
It was difficult for the stairs, but Meredith managed, I think it actually helped her better. We check the rooms, and sure enough, Meredith’s friends are tied together. I use the same cuchillo to saw it off, and Meredith helps.
We get the ropes off the two girl’s and there más easy on their feet, they get up and help Merdith while they follow me to the basement, where I find Serache. Meredith makes a small whimper out of how Serache looks.
Her hair was gone of the bubble gum pink, resotred to it’s normal rich dark blonde color, her eyes look swollen as she sleeps peacefully. Her body covered in bruises. I rip off the ropes with the cuchillo and she doesn’t budge.
“Serache?” I inquire softly, shaking her gently. “Serache?”
Meredith gets on the floor and crawls to us. “Sercahe wake up, we can get out. Serache?”
My fingers start to shake, and I put my head on her chest trying to hear a heartbeat, then I put shaking fingers to her neck, in the certain spot. Meredith reads my face.
“No! No! Serahce?! Serache?! Wake up! Please! tu can’t leave me!” Meredith breaks off crying, and I hold her as the sobs rock her.
It was too late to help her, but I vowed for her that I would get the rest of these out safely.
I realize her friends aren’t crying, they don’t even look sad o shocked, just bored. One of them squirms. “Can we go now?”
I help Meredith up and she glares at them. “Were going to call the police, where’s a phone?”
“I saw one in the room,” one of her friends answer.
I take a deep breath as I glance at Serahce, feeling tears form in my eyes again but I quickly follow the girl’s into the room. But I don’t get the chance to step foot in it when I freeze in terror at the noise.
A key opening a door. The front door to be exact.

And all I find is pain
I remember that in the darkest nights
There is still hope
I've been through the deepest waters
The darkest nights
Even when I couldn't see
I fought through it all....and survived
tu know it isn't easy
Just fighting through it all
Trying to survive when tu know there's barely any hope
And it was clear to me what a difficult world this is
People never dicho it would be an easy life
All they dicho was that it'd be worth the time
So I came into this world one dark night
And saw for myself how amazing it could be
Through the nights, through the days
Through the triumphs, through the pain,
We saw through it all
And believed
Through the nights, through the days
Through the triumphs, through the pain,
We saw through it all....
And survived.
