I like Godric, i think he will come back in as memories from Eric, he was (as the books portray) not very nice in his past so i think thats what they mean by seeing a different side to him.

No Godric wasn't very nice, he always seemed pretty heroic in the tv series, i think he made Eric the way he is (unfeeling) and this series should have a lot more Eric in it. Maybe the flashbacks will show Godric mentoring Eric to have no compassion and be unfeeling.
