It\'s been almost a week, but the controversy surrounding that
Some fans were thrilled to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan\'s debut as the vicious Negan, while others were appalled that the identity of his first victim was left undisclosed.
last night (April 8), executive producer Gale Ann Hurd assured fans that they will be "out of [their] misery" soon.
"The cliffhanger is something that is very common, not only in
[TV series]- but in Robert Kirkman\'s comic book series," she said.
Vinyl shocker: Showrunner Terence Winter is leaving
"But at the same time, I completely understand the frustration. We did want the moment to be about the introduction of Negan - and I think that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is fantastic.
"You\'ll be out of your misery very soon in the new season - and I guess so will somebody else!"
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy before the screening, Hurd claimed that even she doesn\'t know who Negan\'s victim is...
"I want to know what happens next too - believe me!" she said. "Honestly, I do not know who it is."
So is it possible that the writers haven\'t made up their minds yet?
The plot thickens - but hopefully Hurd\'s words will come as a comfort to fans who\'ve set up a petition demanding that the cliffhanger be resolved before
AMC on BT TV - simultaneously with the US premiere - and is repeated at 9pm.
