Damon seduces Rebekah to weaken her defenses against Sage's abilities.
The beginning of this episode had me a little divided. Alaric being in denial is to be expected. How many people would take the news "You may be a serial killer in your spare time" without a little bit of denial? What I did loved was the Damon/Alaric friendship! Bromance!
What I didn't like. Seeing Elena pass judgement WITHOUT THE FACTS. She used to be the exact opposite of this. She wouldn't judge. She would look for the reasoning and try to understand and help. That wasn't her today I'm afraid. Also Elena portrayed one of Stefan's few faults; self righteousness. Damon was quick to be frank and truthful. "We're vampires, not puppies". They are vampires, not humans. Vampires. When she continued to say Stefan was a-ok being a bunny eating pacifist. Damon was once again blunt in saying that Stefan can't stay stable, he will eventually relapse. Because he's fighting what he is and feeding the ripper through his denial. She wasn't in the mood and continued to look down on him.. wasn't too happy about that.
Then Damon meets Sage.

After a bit of girl drama between Rebekah and Sage. These two brilliant minds get together to find out what Rebekah's been hiding. A little seduction and praying to the girls ego is the weapon of choice. Rebekah's is a stubborn girl, strong willed too. But she craves attention and companionship. It's the chink in her Armour. A little partying and some romancing and Blondie Bex is asleep in Damon's bed. Sage quickly infiltrates her mind to learn of the tree. Another white oak tree. Which see SHOWS Damon through a vision when besar him. THERE IS NO ROMANCE BETWEEN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS. This is Damon using the only weapon he had to try and get the one up on these villians. He played the cards he had and he did so brilliantly. His character doesn't amor easily o freely. Elena is the one with his LOVE.
After a bit of research he discovers the White Oak árbol was used to build... WICKERY BRIDGE. How ironic is that? Now back up here.. white oak = dead originals. Oh yeah your ally Sage loves one of those original boys.. Uh oh. After some false promises to not kill Finn, he naturally gets double crossed. And tu wonder why this guy relies on himself so much? Here's your answer.
Sage runs to tell 'She devil' that Damon was a bad guy and used her. Oh and he plans to kill you. So Rebekah burns the wood.. And Damon sells his anger at his "failed plan" beautifully. Unsung hero.. I think so. He just delivered white oak from the sign that can be fashioned into weapons to KILL Originals. Not only that but also the feeling of safety amongst the Originals. Who now will believe they can't be killed. But of course they can. And surprise is a great weapon of choice. The Originals may find themselves dead if they don't watch it. Not dagger dead.. dead dead.
Bravo Damon! Bravo! Instead of wallowing in his grief over losing Elena and being the hated bad guy again. He is putting himself to good use.
Now on Stefan. Stefan was hate him/love him at times for me in this episode. He can be very two faced at times, which gets confusing. For example. After Damon killed Abbie for Stefan, he was defeated and letting Elena go. Stefan says "You still amor her Damon". Now last week he's back to "Your helping me because tu feel guilty about besar Elena". Ummm.. make up your mind. He was like this in Season 2 also. With his "You feel something for her" then his "thank tu for loving my girlfriend" *heavy sarcasm* I only let that go so I could use tu to protect her.. Now wonder Damon's confused... I am lol And just pointing out Stefan.. it takes two to tango, Elena was a wiling participant!
In this episode Stefan was rather harsh on Damon. Implying that Damon sabotaged him to Elena. When Damon has been all about Stefan and Stefan only lately. But he did return to my good graces when he helped Elena with Alaric and fought off his blood-lust to heal Meredith. I was very proud to see him fight and successfully resist the temptation. Well done Stef!
Caroline stepped up and showed how strong she truly is.
Abbie left Bonnie again; she truly sucks at parenting. When life gets hard run away as fast as tu can... nope that's not how it goes hun. Now your probably going to end up kidnapped por Klaus o going on a killing spree... She really chose the better option; NOT!
I liked the chemistry between Meredith and Alaric as she took care of him. I saw myself believing there was a connection. Which I hadn't previously. It's really too bad he tried to kill her when he went psycho, as otherwise it was a great night.
The best moment was the surprise Jeremy/Elena call. It was a beautiful, touching, corazón wrenching call that really made tu feel for Elena. Her tears truly made me sad.. she has such powerful expression. I hope we see the return of Jeremy soon. Though I fear he may bring Demons back with him. Personal Demons.
This episode was great. I loved Sage. I loved Damon being the "lone ranger" and really getting things done and done without putting people at risk. Alaric was fabulous as a murderous Psycho. Stefan made some real progress in "Vamp Rehab" which was very nice to see. The only character who disappointed me was Elena herself. She is under a lot of stress and pressure yes. But her self righteous attitude and her double standard judgments were so unlike her. It truly bothered me. I certainly don't like how quickly she shut Damon out and turned her back on him either. She holds out hope for Stefan but shuts out Damon without much of a fight. How quickly she forgets all he did for her and her part in hurting him.. I am certain this is a part of Elena's journey and her cracking under all of this pressure. She will sort it out. I just don't like seeing her behave in such a un-Elena like way.
siguiente weeks episode look's fantastic and will be a real game changer with some of these relationships.
