That is a tough one! Technically if the marriage wasn't valid, then they are little better than bastards and therefore have no claim to the throne. Still, Henry Fitzroy was acknowledged and given several titles and the Tudors claim to the throne came from bastards on the mother's side...

It's not the child's fault that their mother was to evil or crazy to hold onto power. If the mother was smart enough she would make sure that her child was provided for.

If one parent is of royal descent then the children borne should be recognised, no matter who or how low a class the partner is.

Henry's constant de-legitimizing of his kids was the modern day equivalent of not paying child support. Suck it up Henry and just accept those kids are the King's children! What a deadbeat that Henry could be :-(

It was never the children's fault who they were born to. No matter who their mother was or wasn't, they were the King's children and should've been treated with much more love and respect

It's not the fault of the children, they cannot choose their parents.

Despite the fact that Edward, Elizabeth, and Henry Fotzroy's mothers were not royalty, they still should have been considered royal because they were still Henry's children. Mary should've been considered royal no matter what because not only was she Henry's daughter but she was also royalty on Catherine's side since Catherine was a Spanish princess so Mary should've been considered royal no matter what.
