I have a cargando... problem on the sims 3, anyone help please?

I'll put in the disc open up origin, etc. It'll load to the screen where tu pick your lot o whatever then when it loads the actual game, the cargando... bar fills all the way up then stops and crashes/freezes. Happens every single time I start the sims 3. Is it a problem with the disc? A glitch? When I otherwise play the sims 4 o use the computer for other things it works just fine so it cant be a problem with the computer. Can it? and I have the system requirements for the sims 3 and sims 4. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Thank you! :)
