Oh,and the real Zia with them. I know the real Zia was there right once they met her, but I am excited when Carter and Sadie (hopefully) find Zia in the 2nd book. or maybe they will find her in the last book, and everything would be solved by the forces of Carter,Sadie,Zia and Bast.

Bast did die but she came back in the end of the book.
I would have rathered if Horus and Isis didn't leave them.

Didn't Bast die in the pyramid and didn't tell what happened to her????

But towards the very end, it's on page 511 in my copy of the book, she reappears one morning in Amos's house. It was a prestent to them from the gods.

"And that's when the gods completed their gift. A voice from the doorway said 'Sounds like you have a job opening.' I turned and felt a thousand pounds of grief drop from my shoulders. Leaning against the door in a leopard-spotted jumpsuit was a dark-haired lady with golden eyes and two very large knives. 'Bast!' Sadie cried.
