link weares earrings because in some games they have uses but i have no answere for the skrit and most are probley true so i think it is because to make his enemies laugh at him then he kills like in the loz rap por smosh

its a tunic, and in skyward sword link wears pants and in twilight princess he wears tights [which is wierder in my opinion]
