Alright, where the Hades is Percy? Anybody got any ideas? Oh, I do....I forgot. Alright, without further ado, articulo number 12 in the H of O articulo series.
First lets start with places that he isn't in.
Camp Half-Blood. Well duh! Why would they be looking for him if he was already there? I don't see Mr D. locking him in the attic at the Big House...maybe turning him into a shrub, but not hiding him away...he might get más years added to his sentance for that.
Olympus. Nope. He would've already been found. I can safely assume that were he in Olympus the Gods would've sensed him and sent him back to camp.
The Underworld. I think Hades would've sensed him if he were there, o one of the now friendly minor gods who hang out down there. He would've probably been sent packing back to camp por now, o at least someone would've notified Chiron of where he was.
The Forges. No, I don't think so. Hephaestus would've known and if he didn't I'm sure a cyclops would've pointed him out and let someone know that Percy Jackson was in the Forge.
Ogygia. There are a few flaws in this theory. Yes it would be a good hiding spot but like I dicho BIG FLAWS! First off, tu have to be utterly lost to find the place! There is no way to get there, the only person that can get there and back without the whole lost thing is Hermes, and that's only because he is the God of Travellers and messenger for the Gods! siguiente up, tu can only visit there once. As soon as tu find it and decide to leave it becomes forever lost to you. So, could tu really see some kidnapping baddies going there 1st to scout, leaving, coming back to imprison our dear friend, leaving again to reportar to a surperior o check on the state of things and coming back again? So, unless Hermes is our BBG, which I don't think he is, I completely and utterly strike this from our lista of theories. And I know what you're thinking now, what if Calypso is our BBG? No, I don't think so. First off, the only thing Calypso has ever wanted was someone to spend forever with. She's been locked up on that island for so long that I doubt that there is a number for it. I think she is off the island having a fun and peaceful time, who would want to return to the place they've been held captive in for ages? Not me! Plus, R.R. has already dicho that she isn't in the book and the way he answered the pregunta made it seem like he hadn't even considered using Calypso yet.
The Sea/Ocean. Oh, c'mon! Percy draws his strength from the water! He would've escaped por now if he were there! It would be counterproductive to imprison a water born demigod in water! Plus Poseidon would've already found him.
A lake/river/stream/creek/delta o any other body of water. Again, Percy draws his power from the water, people! He would've gotten away por now! And, even though it would've taken longer than if Percy were in the sea, Poseidon would've found him por now.
Mount Tam. I've heard this a few times, but there is no reason why Percy would be there. Kronos and the Titans have been defeated once más and banished into Tartarus again. R.R. dicho there is no need to worry about Kronos because he isn't the BBG, so I don't think Percy is on Mount Tam....sorry.
Now onto places that are más likely to be his prison.
Aeolia. Yeah, I'm talking about the island of the Winds! We've already seen a lot about the winds. Remember Jason was able to fly por riding the winds, and of course, the Anemoi Thuellai (BAD WINDS) popped up in the segundo chapter to do battle with our new demigods. So, I think it's extremely plausible that Percy is there. First off, no one would look there. segundo off, there are cells there designed to hold back the Anemoi Thuellai! Hello! If there is a cell strong enough to hold off the terrible tempest winds, that same cell should be strong enough to hold back a demigod.
Chateau Le Frontenac. tu know this place. It's the building on the cover of the American copy of the lost Hero. I remember lectura somewhere that R.R. dicho that Percy was either above o below the cover, so that right there connects him to the building. There are tons of rooms, and there are spires and towers in which to hide a demigod. Besides, this place has some major demigod mojo. For más on this place please see my articulo link.
Delphi. I know a lot of people have been wondering about Delphi of late. First off I need to explain it because some people are unsure of what it is. Delphi is a city on the base of Mt. Parnnassus in Greece, not an island. It was sacred to Apollo and the spiritual center of Ancient Greece. Now, we know that Apollo dicho something about setting Rachel up in an awesome cave, which of course was a reference to Delphi and the Pythia (oracle at Delphi) but was that foreshadowing? It could be possible. It is a very important place in Greek Myth that we haven't seen yet in the series. The only thing is, what part of North America would be considered the new Delphi?
Another Camp. Oh yeah, now this is my favourite, and I've got two theories for how this one could happen. First off, what if there is another camp that is training demigods to do wrong? An evil camp! Taking Percy would've been like kidnapping the queen of England! I like this idea, but with the evidence presented I like the siguiente one a lot more.
Now, we know that Jason already knows he's a demigod and he's been trained and so on and so forth, but he's forgotten it all due to Amnesia. Yes, I know that there is a Jason mentioned in TC, but what if it isn't our Jason? Perhaps our Jason is a member of a different camp. Lets say that this camp is a Roman Camp, that would explain how Jason is a part of the Greek world but still refers to everything por their Roman terms. It would explain the oro Aureus with Julius Caesar on it. And it would explain how he could be a trained demigod that no one seems to know. Now, we all know he lost his memory, so what if that happened to Percy, too, and now they've switched places? If this is true, then Annabeth's vision is true, too. Jason would definately know where Percy is, even if he doesn't know him, but he just can't remember yet! There is only one thing it doesn't explain, though: Where in Hades is Piper's dad, and what does he have to do with it all? Maybe we've got things all wrong! Maybe Piper's dad's dissappearance has nothing to do with Percy's! Oh, man!
There are so many ideas swirling around in my head right now! I'll save those for another article, though. I hoped tu liked this edition of the H of O articulo series, don't forget to head over to the official link thread and cast your vote for the siguiente topic. Remember the lost Hero hits bookshelves on October 12th. If tu need a refresher, head over to the official link site. The contraseña is newhero. Remember we only have five más artículos until the release of The lost Hero. After the release I will be wrting an articulo to let everyone know which theories we've gotten right and which we've gotten wrong. I will give tu más information on an expected fecha for that. From the release of the book until after the articulo of Correct Theories, the H of O articulo series will be on a temporary hiatus to allow everyone, me included, time to read through the book. Also note, that for a few months after my artículos start again I will be posting them with the título "Spoiler Alert" followed por the name of the articulo series and the number of the article.
