1x04: Haley makes Lucas go to the basketball after-party at Nathan's family's beach house hoping that Nathan and Lucas will settle their differences. However, the beach house makes Lucas think about the life he never had, prompting him to ask his mother why Dan was never a part of his life. Meanwhile, Deb, Nathan's mother, comes to Karen for advice after Nathan continues to get himself into trouble.

2x04 : Brooke's new neighbor, who Peyton quickly dubs "Brooke in pants", is quick to make an impression in Tree Hill. Though he and Brooke get off to a bad start, he comes to Brooke's aid when she is caught shoplifting. Meanwhile, Nathan and Haley have their first post-marital fight when Nathan buys her an expensive keyboard instead of a car. Elsewhere, Lucas and Dan begin to make strides in their relationship, but they quickly lose the ground they gained when Dan reverts back to his old ways.

3x04 : TRIC throws Tree Hill a masquerade ball and Lucas and Haley see it as a perfect time for Lucas to convince Brooke to date him exclusively and for Haley to win back Nathan. As Fall Out Boy performs, both Haley and Lucas struggle make their plans work and Peyton continues to deal with the new mother in her life. Meanwhile, Dan decides to run for Mayor and agrees to give Deb a divorce as long as she stays his wife through the campaign. However, Dan soon learns that Deb might be more of an opponent than an asset during the campaign.

4x04 : While rumors that Brooke is pregnant spread around Tree Hill High as well as the town, Peyton is able to get hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco to perform at TRIC. Nathan, still recovering from the car accident, buys a motorcycle despite Haley urging him not to. Meanwhile, Lucas fights with Derek; Deb double-crosses Karen; and Rachel poses for Maxim magazine.

5x04 : While Brooke works on Clothes Over Bro's, Peyton deals with a problem-child musician. Haley's love of music resurfaces and she soon finds her self back in the recording studio. Meanwhile, Nathan tries to deal with Quentin, but has trouble doing so; and Mouth's relationship with his boss becomes troublesome.

6x04 : Lucas struggles to find a way to inspire his team as Haley begins to look into Dan's disappearance. Meanwhile, Brooke confronts a demon from her past; Nathan begins to deal with Deb's relationship with Skills; and Peyton is shocked when a famous musician visits her at the studio.

7x04 : Nathan's fear comes true when the scandal becomes public. Haley talks with Quinn about her estranged husband David. A fashion show brings a responsibility for someone, in an unexpected way, while another makes a decision that could cost him his career.

8x04 : Brooke deals with the mounting financial problems at Clothes Over Bro's; Julian starts a new film project; Alex and Chase spend an afternoon together.

9x04 : As Julian deals with his guilt, Brooke helps Haley confront a new rival cafe, and its difficult owner. Meanwhile, Chase's new girl has a complicated secret, and Quinn takes extreme measures that help Clay realize he's worse off than he thought.
