Is there any fan here that could calculate the realworld speeds of the Y-wing, X-wing, A-wing, TIE Fighter, TIE interceptador, interceptor & the Millenium halcón in MPH's/KPH's as portrayed on film in Episode VI? JD

The technical specs and data attributed to estrella Wars starships' performance is vague and often contradictory. For instance, the estrella Wars Databank and Wookiepedia state that the single asiento BTL-A4 Y-wing starfighter has a parte superior, arriba speed of 70 MGLT and/or acceleration of 2700 G. However, portrayed in Episode VI, the Y-wing appears to be as fast and/or maneuverable as the other starfighters shown (X-wing, TIE Fighter... even the A-wing & TIE Interceptor). To further complicate the issue, the ILM crew and designers drew up a Relative Speed/Maneuverability Chart confirming the equal performance of the Y-wing when compared to the X-wing and TIE Fighter's 100 MGLT speeds (see Wookiepedia entry: Megalight).

Based upon their portrayal in Episode VI: RotJ and detailed in a few other sources, 2 issues for me are raised:

1. The BTL-A4 Y-wing is at least as fast as the T-65 X-wing and TIE Fighter, while the rarely mentioned (little seen) two-seat BTL-S3 Y-wing is actually the variant with the 70 MGLT parte superior, arriba speed and 2700 G acceleration rate.

2. If #1 was canon, the BTL-A4 Y-wing definitely deserves and hopefully would be dado far más respect and más instances in estrella Wars literature for heroic exploits.
