I'm going to say this, instead of going off into fan-fic mode, because then I could imagine him behaving very differently with the right person though this of course would be influenced by preference. I'll just stay close to the canon. :p

I just can not envision an awkward Sesshomaru. With the confidence he exudes, I can't see it and I'm trying to. I am going to agree, my first instinct was also to go into fan fiction mode where I can see a rather passionate demon in the right set of circumstances. But with the options and staying with what we know from the show, yes, words like cold and controlled come to mind.

I would go with 'Private.' He would still be cool and collective around others, but I think were he just alone with his lover/mate, he could be very passionate and romantic. Assuming, of course, that this was this 'right woman' that he would come to really care for, and after eventually relaxing his emotional barriers around her and trusting her. =P It would take some patience and just the right touch to get in there, but I think if you were privileged enough for him to allow it, it would be amazing. No one else would see it; it would just be you in his world, which would be incredible and you should consider yourself the luckiest woman in the world.
