MTV's Scream gets season 3 makeover with new cast, showrunner 

EW has confirmed that the horror whodunnit will be rebooted for its six-episode third season, with the show featuring a new cast and location, both of which have yet to be announced. The move is being made to feature a more diverse cast and story in the TV version of the popular movie franchise.

That isn’t the only change taking place: The series is also getting a new creative team, with Brett Matthews (

) stepping in as showrunner. Queen Latifah, Shakim Conpere, and Yaneley Arty will executive-producer for Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment.

The first and second seasons of the show followed the story of Willa Fitzgerald’s Emma Duval, the daughter of one of the victims of a mask-wearing serial killer plaguing her small town, and her investigation into who was threatening her and her friends’ lives.

Dimension TV’s Harvey and Bob Weinstein will remain executive producers along with Wes Craven, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena, and Cathy Konrad. Matthew Signer and Keith Levine are producers.
