He created a system used to deny countless people coverage. He was causing allot of people to die. At least his past caught up with him in the end.

It was for an insurance company. He was head of the part that was supposed to eliminate some of the candidates for coverage.

John probably didn't like his carefree attitude about what he was doing. His disregard for life was probably a big part of it.
