And despite season two only hitting the streaming service two weeks ago, fans are already hungry for a third season.

The good news is, showrunner Victor Fresco has already begun writing the next instalment. The bad news — Netflix hasn\'t put in an order yet.

, Fresco said there\'s still loads more of Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila\'s (Drew Barrymore) story to tell, given that both season one and season two are set during a four-week period.

"They\'re still only about a month into this incredible change that they\'re going through," he said.

And Fresco has plenty of ideas, revealing that he wants to delve more into the mysterious couple Paul and Marsha, who appeared in season two.

There\'s also the question of the Knights of Serbia, a group who have been tasked with finding zombies and stopping the outbreak.

"We like the idea that there are other people out there —not the government — that are looking into this, and it\'s a threat to Sheila and obviously to Joel also, so we\'ll track that story into season three," Fresco said.

However the showrunner added that he\'s not had the green light from Netflix yet, but said he\'s keeping his "fingers crossed."

"We don\'t have any data to know how the show is doing, so we\'ll just have to see," he added.

Based on the response of fans and critics, we\'re pretty optimistic that Barrymore will be returning to eat more flesh in the future.
