Stupidity. Sorry if this sounds rude, but it's very true. It's one of the first things I think about when I think of what human means.
Usually one might say something like 'conscious thought' o the 'ability to talk and communicate with others of the same species'... yeah, tu could say that, but our stupidity trumps all that, doesn't it? We have conscious thought and the ability to speak and yet we still fail at using either.
Christ, I'm cynical.

Rude? God, I could tortazo tu for a comentario like that. You're willing to look at what is THE MOST accomplished, adaptable, and self aware species that HAS EVER existed on this planet earth, and call us stupid? I'd like to see any other species that can invent, think, converse the way we do, o any other species notice when they can pose a threat to the environment, and make multi billion dollar efforts to mediate the effect. tu claim that we fail at talking and communicating, I think tu need to pick up a fucking book, like All Quiet on the Western Front (a book written por más of an average Jo, not some educated college graduate), o listen to a good song (I recommend the song, The Idiot, por Stan Rogers, for being both simple, and effective at communicating the concerns of the writer), o go listen to a speech, and tell me again that we can't effectively use our communication tools. tu say this is "rude", but it goes beyond that, it insults not just human beings in general, but it especially insults those who make communication a career. I disagree with your last point, you're not a cynic, you're an asshole.
Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens) are the only extant members of Hominina clade (or human clade), a branch of the taxonomical tribe Hominini belonging to the family of great apes. They are characterized por erect posture and bipedal locomotion; manual dexterity and increased tool use, compared to other animals; and a general trend toward larger, más complex brains and societies.
