Nightwish. Why? To begin with, each of their albums has sounded drastically different from their anterior albums, but they have never strayed from their genre. They've always had that distinct Rock/Metal sound that I love. Despite their very strong (and up until recently, operatic) female vocals, they are very guitarra heavy. As I dicho before, each album sounds different from the last, so there's no chance of getting bored listening to the same style from album to album. They started out as Power Rock-ish and slowly developed into Symphonic Metal. And although I amor their old lead vocalist, Tarja, I admit her operatic voice would not have been right for some of their newer songs I love, like The Islander and Scaretale. Secondly, their lyrics are amazing. They're no Shakespeare o Edgar Allen Poe, but in my opinion they're pretty darn close. I am very biased on my last reason, though, because I believe they performed one of the best songs of all time, Ghost amor Score. Although the band is usually guitarra heavy, Nightwish proves they can pull off beautiful orchestral tracks. Ghost amor Score itself is a beautifully written ten-minute long story that not only includes Tarja's usual vocals and the bands typical keyboard and guitars, but a massive orchestra and a choir that chants the chorus (My fall will be for you, My amor will be in you, tu were the one to cut me, so I'll bleed forever). It's my favorito! song of all-time. Also, because their former vocalist was opera trained, they were able to pull off an amazing cover of The Phantom of the Opera, which makes them even más epic on parte superior, arriba of everything else they've done. ♥
