Why did websites like Megavideo close down?

Yeah it probably had to do with either ACTA, SOPA, o PIPA.

Wel this is what I think...
Because of SOPA (Stop online piraçy act)! I'm against piraçy too, but come on, if they continue doing that even youtube will close! Now everyone has pirated games and other things, and they ask, why? The world is getting más dangerous every single day,the crisis is dominating our world,so they don't have enough money to buy original and legal things. Children stopped going to play with friends on the street, they stay at inicial playing video games, watching television, playing at the computer (or even talking with unknown people).
SOPA is destroying what teenagers like, in someway its good, but there's no need to close everything, piracy is not the only bad thing in the world! It is not all piracy! There are some kind of things that they're destroying, but they're not piracy, so stop closing innocent sites! Piracy needs an end,Internet doesn't!
Anyway, I think megavideo had some ilegal stuff...

Even before SOPA,PIPA,ACTA o anything like that was established. The FBI closed down Megavideo because it thinks Megavideo had illegal stuff on it so.... they arrested the owner of the site (He was LIVING internationally por the way) and they shut down the site. I dunno about piknik though.

EDIT: Whoops I misread your question. I thought tu dicho "megaupload" Anyway I don't know why it closed down.

Yes it's because of the SOPA bill, but it had to happen, get over it.

Yes it's because of SOPA and since those sites did subir shows and cine without giving the creators credit/payment.
