Ha lol.. I think he probably was.. there was a translation error. It was supposed to say Alexander the Gay, but somone translated it wrong to Alexander The Great. :-p

I think back then they didn't really distinguish between gay and straight, Marc Anthony had male and female concubines, Nero tried to give a teenage boy a sex change and make him his wife etc.

He might be, but no one really knows.
Most of ancient rulers, generals and kings used to have relationships with members of the same sex. It was something common for them.
And many ancient philosophers also used to have relationships with their students.
