What is physical pain?

Physaical pain is a state of mind? I would have to agree with tu to a point. The mind sends messages through the nerves to tell us something is wrong. (sorry if that sounds like a defintion.)
Differant people have differant thresholds of pain. One common problem in the west is we treat the pain and not the problem. It's kind of like turning off a fuego alarm and ignoring the fire. Alcohol o drugs can shut down the mind and keep it from sending out the feeling of pain. Athletes may ignore what their minds tells them in order to compete. Strong emotions o stress can act as an amplifier of pain.
Pain is in the brain, and is benifical. They found in India, that people with leporsy many times did not loose hands o feet from the disease. Because of nerve damage, they had no feeling and did not notice that rats were eating the dead flesh while they slept. So I look at pain as a gift from the brain to warn the body.
