Y do they call it navidad In July?

Don't they say that when they're in some sad period of their life?

People don't want to wait 12 whole months for Christmas. So they spread the cheer 6 months early! It so fun to pretend!!! Today is Christmas! I'm going to wear red and green and sing navidad songs and eat roast beef and put up the árbol and decorate!!!! Okay, a little too much...I just really looovvve Christmas!!! Merry navidad in July everyone!! And a happy Labor day!!! ^u^

Whoever dicho "because they're stupid"- watch it.

It's because the seasons are reversed for the Southern hemisphere. Right now in Australia is July but we're in the middle of the chilling winter. So, navidad spirit is felt during this period because navidad for most of the world is during winter. In another words during the real navidad period in December we're in summer, so we don't really feel very Christmas-y. That's why it's called navidad in July.
