Giving your life to save someone is a non-selfish o a selfish act?!?

Most people don't agree with me and when I try to explain why i think that giving your life to save someone is a selfish act, people don't understand my point.
The thing is: if tu give your life to save someone tu amor it's because tu don't want to live without that person, which means tu don't want to feel the pain of losing that person. But, por giving your life to save that person, that person will suffer with your death and she will be the one feeling the pain of losing you?
Did anyone understand my point?!?

I understand your point, I think. I suppose the whole thing depends on how tu look at it. I think it's mostly unselfish, because it's death, dying for someone tu love. But I'm going to be up all night thinking about that now.

i get what you're saying, but i think that it's moore because they want the other person to have a chance at life más than they do... i wouldn't give my life to save my Gran, because she only has a few years left in her, and i know that she's agree with me! So it always depends on the situation.

I've often thought about that, so I understand your point. But selfish is a wrong word to use, because that means that tu only think about yourself. If your giving away your life to save someone elses, tu don't care about what'll happen to you. tu do it so that the other person can get the oppurtunity to live.

The reason I believe it's a non-selfish act is because what the person is usually thinking at the moment is that they just want their loved one to live. It could turn into some pain for the loved one, but the persons' intentions are to protect them, because they care about them más than themselves. It comes down to why they did it.
