 Marlene
Marlene
The penguins were outside early in the morning, practicing like always. Skipper was shouting out commands when all of the sudden, they get an urge to peek at Marlene’s habitat. When they look over, she looks very sad and bored.

“Skippa, what’s going on with Marlene?” Private asks innocently.

“I have no idea, Private.” Skipper turns to Kowalski. “Kowalski, options!”

“Well, uh…we could go ask her if anything is wrong…?”Kowalski answered, but it sounds más like a pregunta than an answer.

“Right, let’s go!” With that being dicho the penguins spring into Marlene’s habitat. She is outside on a rock sitting down and looking around. She sighs a couple of times. When she notices the penguins get there, she looks up, completely bored and looks back down.

“Hi guys.” She says, not even trying to make it loud, like she usually does.

“Who are tu and what have tu done with Marlene?” Skipper yells in her face when he notices that she is not as cheery as always. Rico pukes up a flashlight, even if it is unnecessary, and flashes the strong light in her face. Marlene covers her face and answers.

“No, it’s me. Don’t worry…I have just been a little lonely, that’s all.” She respuestas wearily.

“Well, why don’t tu just go play with somebody?” Private’s accent is shown strongly as he says this.

“I don’t play, for one. And two, there’s nobody to “play” with…” Marlene is now gliding a finger across the concrete on the floor.

“Kowalski! Give me some más options!” Skipper whispers.

“Well, we could “play” with her…” Kowalski answers, not even attempting to whisper.

“No, I don’t want to waste your time with my girl talk…” Marlene looked up.

“Hmm…She could babysit Mort, I’m sure he would be a good friend for her to talk to.” Kowalski smiles as he shows a drawing of Marlene cradling Mort in his notepad.

“I really want someone my own age…” Marlene says with a scoff.

“Well how about we just get tu a date?” Kowalski lastly suggests.

Marlene blushes. “A date?”

“Explain.” Skipper says pointing to the notepad which was blank. Kowalski begins to doodle things until he finishes and shows a picture of a happy Marlene with hearts siguiente to a pregunta mark. He points to the picture as he speaks.

“If Marlene gets a date, then she would have someone to talk to and spend time with no matter what time of the día it is.” Kowalski smiles intelligently.

“Come on, guys! A date? Really?” Marlene felt like she was going to begin stuttering any time soon.

“Affirmative, we just need to find out who.” Skipper smirks. He looks over at Marlene and back to Kowalski.

“Well, what would tu like in a guy?” Kowalski flips to a blank page in his notebook and waits for Marlene to talk.

“Umm…Let me think.” She touches her chin. “Well, I would like him to be around my age, really, maybe even a bit older perhaps. He has to be himself all the time and he has to be protective, just in case. Well I wouldn’t want him to be much taller o much shorter than me… and he has to have a sweet spot that can be broken a little easier than most. I guess that’s, WAIT! I forgot something…he should have blue eyes. I’ve always loved blue eyes.” She smiled.

“Umm…ok. We should have your match at about 1900 hours.” Kowalski confirms as he writes a couple más things down. “Just be prepared.”

“Ok, sure.” Marlene walks into her habitat and the penguins are off to find Marlene’s match.

First Tested: Julien

“Hello neighbors!” Julien called from his bouncy. “How are tu penguins doing in this beautifical día that was made for my praise and glory?”

“Why are we testing HIM again?” Skipper looked up at Kowalski, a bit annoyed.

“All males must be tested. And oh. He has failed terribly.” Kowalski shook his head.

“How am I to be failing? I am too amazingly awesome to fail such a simple task that I don’t know what tu are speaking about!” Julien protested.

“Is there really a need to test Maurice and Mort now? Maurice too old and his eyes aren’t blue. Mort is too small for Marlene.” Skipper looked at the two lemurs in the distance.

“Good point.” dicho Kowalski as they walked over to their siguiente contestants.

Second: Chimps

The penguins entered into the chimp habitat, as welcomed as always. Kowalski took out his notepad wrote down things as he inspected the chimps.

“What the dickens are tu penguins doing here so early?” Mason said.

“Well, Marlene is feeling lonely, so we are trying to find her a date.” Private squeaked.

“DDDAAATTTTEEE!” Rico squawked.

“If tu don’t mind my asking, how old are you?” Skipper dicho as he read that off the rubric for Marlene’s date.

“27.” Mason replied. “Phil is 29.”

“Marlene is 25.” Kowalski remarked. “Check.”

Skipper looked up at the chimps. They were both much too tall for Marlene.

“Too tall.” Skipper dicho stiffly. They all walked out to test someone else.

Third: Joey

“Joey, we come in peace. We just need to ask tu for your age…” Skipper said.

“What’s it to you, laddies?” Joey said, with a hint of threat.

“We need to get a Marlene a date…” Private smiled widely.

“I’m 35…” He answered.

“Too Old.” Skipper said.

Joey punched Skipper in the face and sent him flying, along with the other penguins.

Throughout the whole day, Kowalski inspected every single male animal in the zoo. They were all tired out.

“Talk to me, Kowalski.” Skipper commanded.

“0% of the zoo’s male population meets Marlene’s criteria.” Kowalski said.

“Us?” Rico grunted.

“Us. US! We haven’t tested ourselves yet.” Kowalski ran to get his notepad. He wrote down things for about 5 minutos and looked up.

“I’m too tall for Marlene, Rico is too old for Marlene, and Private is too young and short from Marlene. This concludes my data collection.” Kowalski said.

“Wait, what about Skipper?” Private suggested.

Kowalski blushed.

“Sorry, I must of forgotten.” He began to scribble down things in his notepad for 2 minutos and looked up with a goofy smile.

“Skipper seems to fit Marlene’s expectations.” Kowalski said, a little nervous.

Skipper looked up from what he was doing.

“What?” Skipper asked as if he hadn’t heard what he had said.

“You are perfect to fecha Marlene. When she described what partner she wanted, she described you.” Kowalski nudged Skipper.

“He’s right! Skipper is around her age and height, he has blue eyes, and he is always himself and protective. Don’t forget he has a sweet spot!” Private waved a flipper at him.

Rico began laughing so hard that he puked up about 100 pounds in weapons.

“I don’t have sweet spot!” Skipper said, irritated.

“Yes tu do! tu always care for what we feel. If we are all sad, tu care for us and try to make us be happy again.” Private looked hopefully at his leader.

“This can’t be right.” Skipper dicho looking down at the notepad once more.

“Oh, but it is…” Kowalski dicho deviously.

“So tu must get ready for your fecha with Marlene in 20 minutes!” Private ran over to him and sprayed some liquids on Skipper. Skipper choked on several of them. Rico puked up a bowtie and put it on Skipper, giving him a “formal” appearance.

They all walked over to Marlene’s, Skipper leading with rosas in his flippers.

---Marlene’s Habitat---

Marlene was really nervous. She was wondering what kind of guy the penguins had picked out for her. What if they picked out someone who is not my type? Marlene thought. She was worried until she saw the lead pingüino, pingüino de walking up to her.

“Skipper! Who did tu guys pick to be my date? And when will he be here? Oh please tell me it is not Julien!” Her words sounded más like panting, since she was talking to fast.

“He’s here.” Skipper smirked at her as he held the rosas out with his flipper.

Marlene blushed a little, accepting the roses.

“Skipper, tu are my date?” She wanted to sound annoyed, but she couldn’t help smiling and feeling quite pleased.

“Well nobody in the zoo had all of the qualities that tu required, not even us.” Private looked down.

“But Skipper ended up being the only guy to meet your harsh criteria.” Kowalski smiled down at them.

“And I kind of wanted to.” Skipper wanted to choke. He had just dicho the 6 words he thought he would never say to her while talking about anything around that conversation. His team smiled. They knew it all along.

“Awwwwww…” Rico said.

“Yes, Rico…awwwwww.” Kowalski said. “Now let’s leave them so they can continue their date.”

The penguins left, leaving Skipper and Marlene alone.

“This is awkward…” Marlene smiled at Skipper while they sat down in front of the cena table.

“Come on, Marlene!” Skipper teased. “We all knew this was going to happen someday!”

She looked down and blushed.

“Unless tu don’t want it to happen…” Skipper’s voice became softer.

“No, don’t worry. I’m fine with it.” She smiled at Skipper.

“Are tu sure about that?” Skipper cocked his eyebrow at her.

“Yeah, its just that I never really expected it to be you…” She said.

“Hahaha. And tu think I ever thought I would go on a fecha with a girl who has no surveillance system, no military preparation, no marine intelligence, no training technique, no—“ Skipper was cut off when Marlene closed his beak.

“I think I get it!” Marlene giggled a bit.

“I guess the simple, hard truth is that we are both truly different.” Skipper put his flipper on her. Marlene felt hot, but she didn’t pull away.

“I guess that’s why they say opposites attract!” Marlene smiled sweetly at him as he looked down, shocked por what she had just said.

“They sure do!” Private yelled from behind a arbusto, bush in Marlene’s habitat.

“SHHH! QUIET, PRIVATE!” They saw Kowalski’s flipper push Private’s head back down.

Skipper and Marlene just stayed quiet.

Kowalski’s flipper made a funny motion, still from behind the bush. They couldn’t see him, just hear his voice.

“Well, go on…” Kowalski said.

Marlene giggled.

“Do tu mind?” Skipper told Kowalski, as in signaling him to leave.

They all walked out from the bush. They walked away.

“So, where were we?” Skipper said, placing his flipper on her paw.

“They’ll never find us back here.” Private whispered to Kowalski and Rico. They were all hiding behind a boulder.

One night in Central Park Zoo, a weird feeling made Skipper woke up at the middle of he night. He was tired but he decided to check the bunks of the other penguins.

Rico was sleeping, also was Kowalski and Private....wasn't in his bunk? Skipper stood up and went to check in the lab, in front of the T.V., everywhere but obviously, he didn't want to wake up to Kowalski and Rico.

After a moment of searching Skipper decided to go outside and look for Private in other habitats without making any kind of noise. He went where Marlene, lemurs, chimps, Roy, Roger, Leonard, Joey, badgers, Burt and nothing,...
