A few days passed. It was Leila's last día of high school. She was cleaning out her locker and getting ready to turn in the lock. She heard a voice say, "Hi, Leila." She turned around to see who it was. It was Rita. Leila said, "Oh, hi, Rita." Rita said, "I just heard that Phoebe failed her senior year. She won't get to graduate." Leila said, "Either way, she'll be out of my life once I graduate." Rita said, "It serves her right after what she did to you." Leila said, "Yeah. I'm still not over it." Rita said, "It was all for a petty reason, too." Leila said, "I know. If she was mad at me, she should have talked it out with me, woman to woman. I know I'm not really a woman yet. I'm only seventeen, but still." Rita said, "I know." As the two friends walked to turn in their locks from their lockers, Rita said, "I never got to thank tu for standing up for me when those other girls were picking on me for being a New Religion fan." Leila said, "I was happy to help. tu know, I should be thanking you, too." Rita asked, "For what?" Leila said, "Thanks to you, I have good música to listen to. I also know what I want to do with my life. I want to become a musician." Rita said, "That's great. I also feel a bit sad. Just when we started to become so close, we end up graduating and going our separate ways. I'm going out of state for college." Leila said, "I know. I'm going to miss you, Rita." Rita said, "I'm going to miss you, too." Leila said, "Let's make the most of what time we have together." The two friends went to a burger joint for cena that evening. They had a nice time.
