It was January, and the school año picked back up. Glenn was still on crutches, but he was doing better. At one point, we saw some bullies picking on the new kid. Glenn said, "Come on. Let's get those bullies away from her." I said, "Good idea! I can't just stand and watch someone get bullied." The poor girl was already in the floor. The bullies were ready to beat her. Glenn dicho to the bullies, "Back off! I've got crutches, and I'm not afraid to use them!" The bullies backed away. I helped the girl to her feet. "Are tu okay?" I asked. She said, "Yeah. Thanks for standing up for me." I said, "You're welcome. I'm Autumn." Glenn said, "And I'm her friend, Glenn." She said, "I'm Joann." Through the remainder of the year, Glenn and I became good friends with Joann. I even invited her to spend a night with me during the spring. At one point, we played Hide and Seek in the forest. I was counting, while she was looking for a place to hide. Suddenly, I heard her scream. I ran in the direction I heard the scream coming from, (I may not have the best eyesight, but I have excellent hearing). I found Joann sitting on the ground. She was crying. I asked, "Joann, are tu okay?" She said, "No, a snake bit me." I could see the wound. It looked terrible. I was scared, but I knew I needed to be calm to help her. Neither of us could drive then. We were still kids. In fact, I was barely a teenager. Joann's parents were out of town, so my aunt and uncle drove us to the hospital. On the way there, Joann fell asleep, despite my efforts to keep her awake. I was afraid she wasn't going to wake up, but she did. I waited anxiously in the waiting room with my aunt and uncle. I told them, "I hope she'll be okay. I can't lose her. She's the only friend I have besides Glenn." Thankfully, Joann was okay. The snake that bit her wasn't venomous. The wound was cleaned and patched up. When we settled in the bed, I said, "Joann, I was really scared I was going to lose tu today." She said, "But tu did a good job at keeping calm." I said, "I had to in order to help you." I was happy to know I had helped a friend and that she was all right. During the summer, I was wearing shorts, and Glenn noticed the scars on my leg. He asked how I got them, but I dodged the question. I just wasn't ready to admit that I cut myself to him at the time. I think he understood, too.
I haven't written any artículos on my fan club in a while. I felt like escritura a eulogy about my dog, Fluffy. Fluffy was my segundo female dog. I remember when I got her. My aunt and uncle and I were visiting with my grandmother's sister in Florida. One of her neighbors happened to be breeding Smooth collie puppies. I took one of them inicial with me, and I named her Fluffy for the sake of being ironic. She was the most vocal of all the perros I've had. She was also very motherly. When we adopted Roxy, my Pit Bull, Fluffy accepted the pup as her own. She did the same with my Rottweiler, Stone, and with my newest dog, River. When my first dog, Diesel, passed away, Fluffy grieved más than the other dogs, save for Sadie, my Labrador. Fluffy grieved really hard when we lost Sadie a año ago. Fluffy was really smart, too. She knew hundreds of words and phrases, and I cannot possibly name all of them. I miss her very much, and so does everyone else. I'll never forget her. May she rest in peace.
