Some weeks passed, and the members of New Religion were asked to give another interview. The interviewer asked, "How did tu all meet?" Erin said, "We all met in high school, except Paul and I met before then." Paul said, "Erin and I met in the eighth grade. She had recently lost her best friend, and she was depressed. I knew she needed a friend." Lola said, "They later met me and Carl in high school, and we started a band." The interviewer asked, "How did tu come up with the name, New Religion?" Erin said, "Well, when I was a kid, I thought I was a Christian, but I started to become disillusioned with cristianismo after my mother passed away. I became even más disillusioned after seeing my grandfather's hypocrisy, so I decided, 'Music is my religion.' That's how we came up with the name." The interviewer then asked, "How did tu decide Fritz would be the band's mascot?" Paul said, "Fritz inspired a song. He played the drums with his tail, and we all jumped in with our instruments. Erin suggested calling the song 'Fresh Fritz Beats', and I uploaded it on YouTube." Carl said, "The song was intended to be a joke, but it was so popular that we decided to put it on our debut album." The interviewer then said, "I like how tu all are so close. I notice this closeness especially with Erin and Paul. They'd make an adorable couple." Erin said, "Paul is my best friend. I can't ruin it. There are so many friendships that get ruined because of romance, and I don't want that to happen between me and Paul." Paul said, "I'm not the romantic type anyway. I've got no game." The interviewer said, "I don't believe that. You're really charming." He said, "Well, that may be, but romance doesn't appeal to me. It's not worth the drama." Lola said, "He doesn't even like loves songs that much." The interviewer said, "Really?" Paul nodded. Erin said, "As for me, I might want romance someday, but I don't feel ready." After the interview, Carl asked, "Erin, do tu really want romance one day?" She said, "Yes, I do. I just don't want to have a romantic relationship with someone I'm already friends with. It would just destroy the friendship, and there's nothing I value más than friendship. I amor all of you." Lola said, "Aw! We amor you, too, Erin!" The foursome embraced and called it a night.
It was close to Christmas. The members of New Religion decided to go spend time was their families. Sadly, Erin's grandmother passed away. It was devastating for Erin. When New Religion picked up their tour, many people wanted to interview Erin. Lola said, "She lost a loved one. How do tu think she's doing?!" Carl said, "Erin needs time to mourn her grandmother. She doesn't need a microphone in her face." Paul said, "She's been through so much. Leave her alone!" Erin thanked her friends for standing up for her. She later said, "I now know how Paul McCartney felt after John Lennon got shot." Lola hugged her. Things did get better for Erin with time. She lost so many she loved, but she kept going and never gave up.
No Stable Place
Aside from Uncle Bob, the only other family members who paid me any mind were my grandparents. My grandfather passed away about a año and a half after my father's untimely death. My grandmother lived until I started high school. When she was alive, I could always go to her with a problem. Every time I would have a bad día at school, I would go to her. She would say, "Tell me what's wrong, John." I would tell her what was wrong, and she would make everything better. When she passed away when I started high school, I was devastated. Now I had no one to go to when I had a bad day. That's when my record listening became más frequent. Other than my dog, Beatle, it was my only fuente of comfort. I really missed having a person to talk to. I missed having someone who listened to me. When he wasn't working, I could call Uncle Bob and talk to him, but it wasn't the same. Grandma seemed to have an answer for everything. Nobody else seemed to have that gift.
