Today was the first día of school. It was not a good day, o maybe it was, depending on how one looks at it. I got beat up, but I am glad that I took a beating for someone else. What happened was this. I saw some girls bullying the new girl. I walked up to the bullies and said, "Stop it! Why are tu being so mean? What did this girl ever do to you?" The ring leader said, "Stay out of this, Grace! This doesn't concern you!" I said, "On the contrary, I think it does." Another one of the girls said, "She says she has Autism o some kind of enlightenment crap." I said, "That's no reason to be so mean! I cannot simply overlook this!" The ring leader said, "Anyway, we're going to beat her up. Go away if tu can't watch." I said, "If tu want to beat someone up, do it to me." The ring leader pushed me down. Before I could get up, she pinned me down. Her followers started beating me. One of them said, "Fight back, tu coward!" I said, "You're the cowards! Four against one is not fair at all!" Just then, some of the teachers pulled them off of me. The girl I took the beating for helped me up. She said, "Are tu okay?" I said, "I think so, considering the fact I only see a blur." She found my glasses and said, "It looks like they got broken in the process." I said, "That's what I was afraid of. Thankfully, I have spare glasses at home." Still, I wasn't too worried about that. My nose was bleeding, and I was sure that I was bruised. I said, "I think I should get to the nurse's office." The girl said, "I'll go with you, Grace." I said, "That's very kind of you, dear." She looked at me awkwardly. I said, "I'm sorry. I just don't know your name." She said, "Bridget." I said, "Well, thank tu for your kindness, Bridget." She said, "I should be thanking you. You're very brave." We made it to the nurse's office. The nurse dicho that I was fine, just badly bruised. I went on to my siguiente class. When Michael and Sabrina saw me. They ran up to me to make sure I was okay. I told them I was fine. Michael said, "We just heard what happened. Are tu sure you're okay?" I said, "Yeah, I'm fine." Sabrina said, "That was very Valiente of you, Grace." I said, "I couldn't just stand and watch someone get beat up." When I came home, my aunt said, "Grace! What happened?! Who did this to you?!" I told her everything. She said, "That was Valiente of you, but are tu okay?" I said, "I'm fine, just really bruised." I put on my spare glasses and said, "The main pair got broken when I got beat up." I'm sure they'll be fixed soon. Still, it is nice that I can actually see clearly.

Summer Vacation has been great so far. While I've been enjoying school más since I've gained a couple of friends, it's nice to have a break from it. I also received some exciting news. On July 9, I am going to be in Chicago to see The Devil Wants Peace in concert! I was so excited when my uncle told me he was able to afford the tickets. I later told my friend, Michael, "You should have seen me when my uncle told me the good news. I was jumping up and down, crying tears of joy." Normally, I'm not that excitable, but The Devil Wants Peace is one of my favorito! bands. Since I was six, I dreamed of seeing them live, and now, I can stop dreaming. This dream is becoming a reality. I don't know if I'll be lucky enough to meet them, but the fact that I'm lucky enough to see them is great.
