I'm personally really annoyed by this. I see absolutely NO need for another full 22 episodes. I would have been perfectly happy with 12 or 13 episodes as originally planned, just for the sake of wrapping things up. What in the world could they possibly fill a whole new season with? Plus not to mention, that the only thing I am looking forward to in season 8 is Brulian's wedding. And now we'll most likely have to sit through a WHOLE season before we get to see it, since it's supposedly not supposed to air until the finale. Which is probably what's going to happen with Haley's pregnancy too... it'll get stretched out till the very end, as always. Not happy about it lol

so... they were hesitant to even renew the show at all... fans had to BEG to bring the show back for another season. and now all of a sudden, not only did they agree to bring the show back, but they're jumping into a full 22 episodes, before it even airs and they even see what the initial ratings are like? strange.

seriously just let this show die already lmao

I'm actually really happy about it! I see a multitude of storyline options they can explore this season, most of which they probably won't because they would only happen in my dreams, but regardless I'm really excited!

^ Haha, I agree TeeFly. I would LIKE them to atleast spend the majority of the season focusing on the core 3 characters. That would make it atleast a little bit more tolerable for me. But unfortunately, we all know that's not going to happen. They'll waste the extra episodes on characters and storylines that nobody cares about... which is the most frustrating part about it.

I'm really happy, mainly because I have my own expectations for Season 8 but also because I'm not ready for it to get dropped! I hope that they get the majority of the old cast back and focus on them rather than bring a whole new cast in. I want them to wrap things up too. But there are rumours that there will be a Season 9?!

Nah, I don't know about that. I thought the CW only agreed to air another season because of all these cliffhangers in the season 7 finale?! Otherwise all the fans would have to live with all these open storylines. But I don't know...we'll see ^^

Let's just focus on season 8 right now...which is going to be a full season!!! Aw, how great is that? : D I know probably half of the fans here may not be very pleased by a full season (whatever reasons that may have) but I'm still convinced that this show has a very big potential and that there are still thousands of storylines that can be told...and I'm not talking about repetitive storylines =P
But maybe they actually need a full season to wrap things up...we don't know that yet. I mean the new season hasn't even started yet and you're ALREADY complaining about it?! ; )
