Despite coming third on last year's X Factor, One Direction have remained firm favourites with the teenage fanbase whose parents refused to allow them to vote for the umpteenth time during the boys' time on the hit show.

The following Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan garnered during their time on the mostrar was insane and encouraged their mentor, Simon Cowell to sign them up once the mostrar was over.

And now the fivesome have followed Cher Lloyd across the Atlantic to Los Angeles, to start work on their debut album.

Louis took to Twitter to tell his fans of their trip, writing: “So excited to be in L.A will tweet pictures when I can :) xx”

The group looked excited and in disbelief as they arrived in Los Angeles. Not bad for five teenagers!

The boys haven't got long in LA as they will be back in the UK to perform in the X Factor live tour which kicks off on February 19.
