It was called ‘Once Upon A Time’: Emma & Hook Break Up — Season 5 Episode 3 Recap - Hollywood Life
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Sun, October 11, 2015 9:54pm EDT by Avery Thompson
Shady things are going down on ‘Once Upon A Time,’ and it’s not just because of Emma. Plus, a fan favorite couple may have just split for good!
is still shuffling back and forth between Camelot and Storybrooke, and both places are filled with drama. On the Oct. 11 episode, Emma had to find a hero, Arthur’s true motives were revealed, a beloved couple split and more.
The Dwarves were at work in the mines, and Emma showed up looking all dark and evil. She took Happy’s ax back to Excalibur. Geez, Emma. You could have said, “Please.”
Back in Camelot, the gang was trying to figure out how to get Merlin out of that tree. They thought Merlin could actually be the tree transfigured, but no one really knew. Emma offered to take care of things quickly, but no one wanted to risk her dark magic coming out. They needed to find a mushroom — the Crimson Crown in the Forest of Eternal Night — in order to talk to Merlin.
Charming/David took the opportunity to be all brave and stuff. King Arthur offered to go alongside him to the Forest. I smell a bromance. The two chatted by the Round Table, and David broke the news that Lancelot was dead.
Meanwhile, Regina showed Zelena who was running the show in Camelot. Regina had to remind Zelena that she was still the Evil Queen at the end of the day. “I will make sure your baby is fine and loved and safe just as a I promise the same will certainly not hold for you,” Regina said. Ouch.
Charming and Arthur bonded on their trip over their pasts and their wives. They found the Crimson Crown. All they had to do was get across a sketchy lake. Charming offered to go, because of course he would. He snatched the mushroom and was on his way back when he was greeted by shady dead knights. He chopped their heads off, but one pulled him under. Arthur saved him, but Charming lost the mushroom.
After Charming’s near-death encounter, he and Arthur both acknowledged they wanted to be more than just their prophecies. Arthur subsequently named him Sir David of the Enchanted Forest. Charming (sorry, to me, that’s his name) now had a place at the Round Table — Lancelot’s place.
Snow walked away with baby Neal and saw Lancelot in the shadows. He was alive! However, Lancelot had a dire warning. There was a villain in Camelot, and his name was King Arthur! Yeah, King Arthur wasn’t exactly being the most honest person. He lied to Charming about having the Crimson Crown. Arthur blamed the lie on having to think of his kingdom first.
Back in Storybrooke, David was getting super frustrated about Emma. He was angry that there was nothing he could do to help her and worried it was his fault. “She made the choice to save everyone,” Snow said, which was something we did not know. Regardless of what was happening with Emma, Snow assured Charming that he would always be her hero. Aw!
Emma took Happy’s ax to the stone because it can cut through everything, right? Wrong! It can’t cut through magic. The only person who was going to be able to pull Excalibur from its stone was a hero, and that wasn’t Emma.
Robin was hanging out at Granny’s looking at the sonogram of his new baby. He was happy about the baby, even if it wasn’t Regina’s. It was just a complicated situation. Hook felt his pain. He met Emma on his ship to just have lunch. She wanted it to be just like normal. Except it wasn’t.
“You’re not the same,” Hook said to her. Emma admitted that she liked who she was now, and she was no longer scared of anything. She thought they could just move forward in their relationship. Hook knew she wasn’t there to talk about their relationship, she needed something else.
She asked Hook if he loved her. If he didn’t, she would let him go. “I loved you,” he said, crushing hearts of Captain Swan shippers. Did Hook and Emma just break up? Yep, I think so.
Elsewhere, Arthur was missing a magic bean. Griff ran away on a horse but claimed he didn’t have the bean. The magic bean could take Arthur and his people back to Camelot. They never found the bean, but they found the Crimson Crown instead. Griff was arrested, and Arthur showed up to the jail. Apparently, Griff had taken the stuff of Arthur’s because Arthur had told him to.
Arthur was planning on building a new Camelot in Storybrooke. In order to make sure Griff wouldn’t repeat anything that had gone down between them, Arthur asked him to drink poison. He guilt-tripped Griff into it. Before drinking it, Griff uttered, “For Camelot.”
Emma was going to stop at nothing to get Excalibur out. Just as Belle notice the rose was rejuvenating itself, Emma woke Rumple up. She needed a hero, and she had the purest one in all the land. This should be fun.
