I don't see the Dollhouse comparisons (Am I missing something? :S) and I didn't watch the original. To me, the basis is exactly like Alias (she was in a secret part of the government and then decided to plot against them when her BF Daniel [Yes, same name] was killed. Her handlers name was also named Michael.) But the Nikita premise predates all of these shows so I guess it's just a reboot of an original?

I don't know...I don't care. It's a decent show. That's all I care about.

I'm really not seeing any Dollhouse copy so far, and I'm a big Dollhouse fan. Dollhouse was people having their personalities removed and being imprinted to become completely different people, people who didn't even know they weren't real, not just spy training. And while I think Dollhouse was a very unique take on the idea of someone who is/was the pawn of a secret organisation realising they're bad and taking them down, the idea itself is has been done by a few people, so I don't think Nikita took it from Dollhouse
And I don't really understand the la femme Nikita option, because this show is a remake of the original show based on the movie, so of course there are similarities. How could a remake not have similarities?
I know we're not far in to this show yet, but so far I'm happy with the way they are taking the story, and using the same base idea to create a fresh show :)

Also Dollhouse is awesome, I really miss that show.

Hi cr6zym0nkeyiz ( crazy monkeys ) ; I'm a bit confused on why you'd even write something like that and of course why you'd even be in a spot that your not even a fan of, it just doesn't make any sense to me... "At all"!!! I am a huge fan of some of the shows you watch, the books you read and the music you listen to. Sorry Mariya this is not an attack; I was trying to have the fun in this spot by trying to ask a question that I thought was witty, and was wondering if anyone else felt the same way I did when I watched the pilot episode!!

Sorry I didn't mean exactly like the shows. I just meant some what like them, idea wise! I just felt that in the new show when they were taking the girls and guys off the streets and programing them as assassins and spy's. I just got this feeling I was seeing a bit of something else and all's I could think of was Dollhouse!
Sorry the question isn't an exact I was just trying to be witty and a part of the new "Nikita" spot!!

I don't think it was a poor question, it was interesting thinking of possible similarities between this and other shows in the genre.

"La Femme Nikita" was very, very good but I really like the way they've changed updated this series. Birkoff steals the show in my opinion: Aaron Stanford is a fantastic actor and great in comedy too--he provides much needed comic relief to make this show not take itself too seriously. His flirting with Nikita was wonderful (he even got her to smile when she was holding him captive). Would love to see his character have a romantic interest in Lyndsey's 'cause they're both techno experts. The original series Birkoff was a middle-aged guy who had a crush on Nikita, and she flirted with him a lot - thankfully now the character is younger and more in the center of the action.

Nikita is an American television drama for The CW Television Network. It is based on the 1990 French film Nikita, 1993 remake Point of No Return, and the 1997 television series La Femme Nikita.

I do think it's an original series brought together with the CW!!!

It has an awesome story which centers on a secret organization known as Division. Targeting young people from a troubled background, Division erases all evidence of their past lives and molds them into efficient spies and assassins. Nikita is the first recruit to escape and promises to bring down her former employers. Having trained Nikita, Michael, a Division operative, is ordered by his boss Percy to deal with his former student. In the meantime, Division continues training its recruits, Thom, Jaden, and the newest, Alex.

It's not like Dollhouse, and though a bit similar to Alias, the story and characters, and the plot itself are different, and the story is different even from the original Nikita movie, if I'm not mistaken.

It doesn't know What the hell it wants to be yet. A freaking Love Story, or a Spy Show? Which is something, that all of the other shows seems to have captured. It was going great, until they made Micheal and Nikita look like some love sick puppies. Perhaps, the show is taking their direction from a bunch of love-sick teenagers? Huh, you think so???? Now, Nikita , and Micheal seem weak.
