You know, they probably would get along, but Near copies L's EVERY MOVE!!!! IT'S INSANE!!!!!! Everything he does!!!! I mean, I'm sure it was because Near respected and looked up to L, but still!!! He doesn't have a personality beyond the one he stole from L!!!

??? He didn't steal L's personality. Near is just enemtional. L was childish, and I think your thinking of BB. Beyond is the one who did that and molded it together with L's trying to be better then him, yadda, yadda, yadda... the point is they were both calm, both able to control there emtions and had high intellects~! No. Nate is better than Lawliet and he can find everything, like Mello was say "like he's solving a puzzle, quiet and clamly".

Near obviously looks up to L: His deductioning skills and even the way his sits were influenced by L. But saying Near's personality was copied from L's is absurd, he and L are definited two distinct individuals! Of course, at first glance they're both calm and collected, and you realize that they both have childish and innocent sides. But their personalities are natural and no one copied the other! They were born having similar personalities. Saying Near copied L sounds too generalized, because his personality is just like that!
