Hawkeye, and Metal Gloss were getting ready to leave Laramie in their train.
Hawkeye: *Checks coal in the tender* We have a full tender. Metal Gloss: *Checks water gauge* We're good on water. Hawkeye: Excellent. We can just wait for somepony in the yard to tell us when we can go, and then we'll leave. Railroad Pony: *Arrives* Your train is good to go. Hawkeye: Alright. Railroad Pony: I should warn you, lots of ponies are going to be watching, and filming tu at one of the crossings between here, and Cheyenne....
Date: July 23, 1959 Location: Somewhere between Cheyenne, and Laramie Wyoming Time: 8:03 AM Railroad: Union Pacific
Hawkeye, and Metal Gloss were driving their freight train at 65 miles an hour.
Hawkeye: *On a radio* Engine 3713, approximately fifteen minutos away from Laramie. Request permission to enter your train yard. Tower Pony: Copy that 3713, the yards are empty, tu may enter with your train. Hawkeye: Thank you.
However, at Cheyenne, things weren't going as smooth as they were in Laramie. Aqua Marine's train was still derailed, and they were trying to get it back onto the tracks.
Forever Wind, the first pegasus and the ancient Element of Air
Fiery waves – the ups and downs of Summer Pride
Chapter 5: The rise of the pegasi
“This is outrageous!” my borther Landslide exclaimed with the spark of fury peppering his tone. “Unicornia has existed for más than a thousand years and I will certainly not allow the kingdom to now break up into two parts!”
It has been two days since we received Forever Wind's disturbing letter about the foundation of the Pegasus Commonwealth. After hearing the news, my siblings immediately came to the castillo of First Magic to discuss this serious matter.
“No! I won't do it!” Celestia yelled anxiously. “I already told you. I shall not leave the Ivory Tower, no matter what happened between us!”
“I didn't ask tu to leave. I only asked to meet your sister. She really misses you, I can see through her mask of coldness. She's facing a lot of problems right now and she really needs your guidance!” Nocturnal Mirage replied gently.
“I dicho NO! Equestria is better of without me.” the sun goddess rejected sternly. “Besides, Luna and I have been growing apart even before I defeated that demon. Since...
“Exactly who do tu think tu are?!” the Princess of the Night snapped at Mirage without any preliminary, as soon as she closed the large door of her office.
“Princess, I…” the stallion began.
“Silence!” Luna exclaimed, angrily raising her hoof. “Do tu think you’re above me?! When I let tu in to the menacing secret, I wasn’t expecting this! I was expecting achievements! It has been three weeks since your last reportar and when I finally have the time and strength to trot up there, what do I see?!”
“I tell you, something’s not right here, man.” the armored pegasus stated, turning to his partner.
“Tell me about it…! They’re at it again.” the other stallion nodded.
Even though they could not understand the words, the sounds of quarrelling clearly sifted through the large wooden door and every Royal Guard who publicado in front of Luna's office knew something was wrong between the alicorns.
“I don’t care what tu say, Cadence! This is taking far too long!” The Princess of the Night exclaimed, speaking on the archaic unicorn...
While Celestia poured the strong black té into the cups, Nocturnal Mirage thought he’s going to be straightforward and tell the Princess everything he had learned from Luna. Then he realized it would be a foolish idea to “bust the door open” like that. The stallion instinctively knew his odd relationship with the sun goddess has moved to a different level, but it was still very unstable, such as Celestia herself. The situation was new to both of them and Mirage had to mover very carefully, in order to carry out the mission Luna entrusted...
Her first coherent thought was about Tartaros. Celestia believed she ended up there. She could even feel the heat. The snow white alicorn slowly opened her eyes, then she recognized a silhouette standing beside her bed. Her vision was still a bit blurry, but the figure looked familiar. Her face distorted in pain as she tried to move. She felt like the entire right side of her body was on fire. The poni, pony reached out, removed the sheet from her chest and disappeared.
Celestia could not decide whether this was some weird dream o reality. Soon, the pony...
The Princess of the Sun circles around nervously. She’s like a snow white ghost haunting the rooms. Although it was several days ago, the encounter with Nocturnal Mirage has stirred up her soul. Laying eyes upon another poni, pony after a decade was quite unsettling for Celestia.
“How could I have been so foolish?” the solar alicorn questioned herself angrily.
In the heat of the moment, she allowed the stallion to see what nopony should see. The marks of that fateful day… the marks of her failure.
His first thought was to get the heno, hay out of there, when he had the chance. It was an instinctive thought. He feared for his life. But, another part of him did not allow the luxury of backing out of this situation. Something was stronger than fear. Actually it’s two things. Compassion and hate. Nocturnal Mirage could not decide which one was más powerful. The only thing he knew he must go after the Princess. And so he did.
Celestia has retreated to her bedroom and seemed she has completely forgotten the royal blue stallion. She...
The process is very slow, like cruising out of a dark tunnel. First, he hears muffled sounds. Everything’s quieted down. There’s no sign of battle. Then he can form coherent thoughts. The air is weird… stuffy, yet somehow refreshing at the same time. It’s quite ambivalent. Strange wafts are trying to get near his mind. The smell billows around his awakening consciousness. Is that… perfume?
The symbolic light at the end of the tunnel grows brighter, as the fog starts to break up. The stallion attempts to collect his thoughts. His heavy eyelids open...
The heat is suffocating. It settles on the capital, like an invisible mass. There’s absolutely no natural air movement. No clouds on the light blue sky. Everypony stays indoors, if they can. Only a few figures saunter on the streets. Mostly young fillies and colts, roasting eggs on the hot pavement, o amor birds, chatting at cafés, under the shadow of tall oak trees. Everything’s quiet, as the fiery orb above continues to pour its light and warmness on the Equestrian landscape. This is the worst heat wave that struck Canterlot in over...
Nocturnal Mirage laid still on the soft grass. The warm rays of the sun were stroking his senses very gently. The stallion got lost gazing at the sky. There were no clouds, just the endless horizon. He let his dark blue capa absorb the heat of the fiery orb above. Freedom at last!
There’s no other place like this in the entire country! Maybe the tall mountains of his birthplace, Terra Absolutia could outshine the magnificent beauty of Amethyst Lake. The jewel of the Crystal Empire. No ripples disturbed the surface of the obsidian water. In spite the fact...
What the heno, hay am I even doing here? the thought passes through the stallion’s mind. He’s alone, in a large room. The sunrays shine through the gótico windows, bathing the sparkling marble floor in lightness, while the ceiling remains in the shadows, for it’s so up high. The royal blue stallion looks around the premise for the hundredth time. The atmosphere is formal but friendly. Four leather couches. A mesa, tabla in the middle. Fresh flowers. And deadly calmness. The thick walls of Canterlot castillo snuff out every noise coming from the outside. It’s...
