Let me start por saying I went into this movie with very low expectations. The original Fright Night was a movie I just did not see the need to remake. The main reason being Roddy McDowell's Peter Vincent. The character belong to Mr. McDowell in my opinion and to see someone else play this part was a little corazón breaking.
Yet, I'll admit there was still a curiousity factor to see what they would do with the property.
For those who are not aware. Fright Night is a remake of a 1985 Tom Holland film.
The premise is pretty much retained for the remake which involves a young man por the name of...

cenicienta Review

Cat and ratón chasing may seem very peculiar outside of Tom and Jerry but cenicienta manages to make it the perfect viewing for a Saturday night. Most people are probably aware of the story of Cinderella: a beautiful girl is left an orphan at mercy at her step-sisters’ and step-mother’s hands, she is kind to the little friends she has (the mice), has a nice godmother that lets her go to the ball (surprisingly unsuspected por her adopted family), rushes out of the ball leaving a glass slipper, the prince who was her company at the ball goes in buscar of her using the glass...

Ray, viewed on DVD
As always, the review is a review of the film, and so contains spoilers.

Recommendation: A well-acted slice of life.

Critique: Ray is both really well executed and very poorly conceived: it has some brilliant performances, but the script is all over the map, and there is no ending at all. The soundtrack and cinematography are both quite good, and tu really come to care about the characters. But the rhythm of the film is jerky and uneven, particularly towards the end. The film plays like a dramatized biography for the most part - the parts that succeed - but it also has trippy...

Lost Horizon (viewed on DVD)
link

Recommendation:
This is a "may-see": tu may find the film less jarring than I, most of the ingredients are good, and the story of film's restoration is inspiring.

Critique:
Lost Horizon is an adaptation of a popular novel, starring well-loved stars of the 30s, directed por one of the greats, Frank Capra, and largely shot on location with high production value. It is enjoyable for all of these reasons,
but it remains unsatisfying for the script, which includes a lot of philosophy and not enough action. Oh, I don't even mean action in the conventional sense: I mean...

RECOMMENDATION: A good adult thriller. Amongst others, fans of thrillers will like this film, as will those who thought Dark City, Brazil, Total Recall and/or The Matrix had too much action and not enough sex.

CRITIQUE: This is a beautifully shot film about fear, loathing and revenge, with an ending that leaves tu guessing. The characters' costumes change as the characters develop, a nice yet subtle visual touch. There's a great shot in the middle of the film as we see the protagonist typing madly into her laptop; the camera drifts slowly to one side and then just as slowly back across her...
