It was an autumn evening and it was raining really hard outside. Holding umbrellas people were rushing to get inicial for not getting wet under the rain . But a young girl was standing on the bridge without an umbrella .She has standing there for a long time as she was completely wet . As if she wasn’t feeling the cold wind of autumn and the rain drops . Standing she was looking far-far away ,but her looks were cold and her eyes were empty .In spite of her being very young ,she ’d no light in her eyes . Her face was emotionless ,so I couldn’t even know what she was thinking about.
She was very beautiful with her dark brown and long hair which was like dancing with the blowing wind in a harmony .Her face was round ,she’d very nice eyes which was taking me to the depth .Coz of the cold ,her hands and cheeks were cold.
I’d been watching her almost for an hora .But she wasn’t moving o turning her head to other sides ,she was watching the river flowing .Don’t know why ,but I couldn’t stop myself from watching her .Indeed ,I was in a hurry .I’d a meeting with my friends .They were my old friends .We hadn’t met since finishing school .But her charm made me forget about it. I called them and dicho that I couldn’t come .When they asked me the reason ,I lied that I was needed at inicial .Then I put the mobile into my pocket and continued watching her.
I wanted to get closer ,may be to talk to her .In generally ,I wasn’t a shy one ,but anyway couldn’t take even a step adelante, hacia adelante her.
Suddenly she turned her head a little and now I was seing her face much más clearly .She was beautier than I thought .She was like an ángel from Heavens . She’d something más than beauty .Because I’d met many beautiful women during my whole life, but none attracted me as much as she did.
When she turned her face I saw the pain and the sorrow on her face .She was keeping her tears hardly .Then she fell into deep thoughts .After some minutos her facial expressions changed .As if she found the out of way .Now she was decisive and strong .From her emotions I understood that she made a very important decision for her. She looked around long with a weak smile on her face .Later she passed over the bridge and was stepping to the apuntalar, costa of the river. Because of the rain the current of the river was very strong .She stood in her place and took a deep breath ,later she took some steps adelante, hacia adelante the river .Now she was taken captive por the current of the river . But she seemed pleased as if she reached what she wanted.
Did I understand everything right?! Was her decision to say goodbye to the world?! But that was so meaningless to do it in her age. But I had no time to judge her o to find out the reasons.
I immediately threw away the case which I was holding and ran to the apuntalar, costa of the river. But I was afraid of being late for stopping her as she was stepping impetuously to the middle of the river.
Then I shouted loudly for slowing her :”Hey tu ,there!” .
She seemed surprised to hear my voice and froze for some segundos . But later she understood what I wanted to do with shouting .She didn’t say anything and kept going adelante, hacia adelante .I was on the bridge ,it was impossible for me to stop her . I saw that she was already drowning as the current was stronger than her weak and tired body . But if she wanted to live , she could get out of that situation ,but I knew that she wouldn’t . Tears was leaking down her cheeks .She looked shy for not being strong enough for living and choosing death for solving her problems .
If I let her die ,I’d never forgive myself .So I jumped to the water for saving her . In that segundo ,she was in the arms of death . I could hardly hold her hand and pull her toward myself . Now she was in my arms , not in the arms of death .But reaching the apuntalar, costa was harder . I was close to loose my conscious . For a segundo my eyes closed , I felt incurable and didn’t believe that I could do it at all . But I opened my eyes screaming : “I won’t let her die !I’m here to save her ,not to watch how she dies ! ”.I swam toward the apuntalar, costa as fast as I could . I was feeling how the rain was getting weaker .After that I believed in myself más and could reach the apuntalar, costa . As soon as reached the apuntalar, costa ,I felt powerless and my eyes closed slowly…
When I opened my eyes again ,I saw a white ceiling .It was the ceiling of a hospital ward . I tried to stand up ,but the nurse standing in the middle of the room didn’t let me . Then I asked :
-How is the girl who was brought here with me?
-Oh ,sir, tu were brought here yesterday in the evening. And only tu ,there was no girl ,beside of the girl who brought you.
-What girl? Tell me how she looked like?
The nurse got surprised seing my excitement and answered after thinking for some seconds:
-I don’t remember exactly as she left after leaving tu here ,but dicho she would come to visit tu . Our doctors recommended her to stay ,because her state wasn’t different than yours .
After saying this she left . I turned my head and looked at the clock on the muro . Waited for some hours ,later fell into a deep sleep .
When I opened my eyes again ,I saw a girl sitting near por cama .From the first look I thought it was a stranger ,but when I looked again, I understood that it was she .I was very glad to see her again and to know that she was in seguro .
She held my hand and whispered :
-Thank you. tu saved my life . But I don’t understand ,why did tu risk your life for me - for a stranger ?
I smiled at her and said:
-Although I saw tu for the first time ,you were más than a stranger for me.
She got surprised, but was pleased with my answer .
