01. Cathy Davey - Little Red

Hey I, I wouldn't let him in
No I, I wouldn't, I wouldn't let him in
His eyes are close together, and he wears a toothy grin
Don't let him in
No, I wouldn't if I were tu let him in

You're all the time believing the very best in all
But the devil was an angel, till he took a little fall

02. Regina Spektor - Apres Moi

I must go on standing
You can't break that which isn't yours
I, oh, must go on standing
I'm not my own, it's not my choice

Be afraid of the lame
They'll inherit your legs
Be afraid of the old

“I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you, it’ll be with a knife”

“I have been taking stock of my 50 years since leaving Wichita in 1922 at the age of 15 to become a dancer with Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn. How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything -- spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of “not trying”. I tried with all my heart.

I dicho that Card had fallen in amor with the screen Louise Brooks in 1928. Twenty years later he established a very complex relationship with the real one. She was at the time living in Manhattan, a bloated drunk who división, split her time between her cama and a barstool. Born in kansas
On an ordinary plain
Ran to new york
But ran away from fame
Only seventeen
When all your dreams came true
But all tu wanted
Was someone to undress you

And all the stars tu kissed
Could never ease the pain
Still the grace remains
And though the face has changed
You’re still the same

And it’s a long long way
From where tu want to be
And it’s a long long way
But you’re too blind to see

Frame of silence
Of an innocence divine
Is a dangerous creation
When tu fail the test of time

And all the photographs
Of ghosts of long ago
Still they hurt tu so
Won’t let tu go
And tu still don’t know

And...

‘If I ever bore you, it’ll be with a knife’.

These words were uttered por Louise Brooks. And they‘re true. If tu dig deep enough into her life, you’re likely to be fascinated por the elusive and sultry beauty who became the embodiment of 1920’s Hollywood.
