Loki wanted Odin to see that he could make a difference too. He wanted appraisal too. And he was doing it in the way he saw best to do so.

Are you kidding? Loki saved Asgard from a terrible war. When he tried to destroy Jotenheim, he was only trying to keep Asgard safe from Thor's stupidity for all time. He's a hero, and he deserves a happy ending.

He's mischievous, conflicted, in pain, and is dealing with a very distorted view of reality. It means some of his decisions are bad, but he isn't. His intentions are good, he's just seeing everything through a warped lens.

i cried at the end of the movie when Loki died, because i just felt so bad for him because he doesn't deserve that, he deserves a happy ending. and if you look at the deleted scenes form the movie you'll see that he really loves his brother, and he never wanted to be king, when they gave him the title he was like....wait, waaaaaaaaaaaat??

Loki is misunderstood and want to be loved like Thor so he behaves himself like Thor and then he is messing up all sort of things.

He was made to be dark since he was always compared to his brother, and deep down he is a frost giant. However, I believe he is misunderstood and there is in fact good in him.

Loki is the kind of character who can't just trust his parents and believe that they love him, he has to hear them say it. He's never been fully appreciated like Thor was, and naturally anyone would get jealous over that. He tried to 'save' Asgard by destroying Jotunheim, because he was so confused on who he was, what to do to gain Odin's respect, etc.
Then again, throwing Thor off Asgard, lying about Odin's 'death' and sending the Destroyer out to kill Thor and the others was stepping over the fine line of what he could get away with without seeming evil. I feel bad for him, in some way, but in another way he was a bit of a jerk.

Deep in his heart, he loves his brother...and his father. He was just never able to connect with them. They always seemed so far away. After he learned he was a frostgiant, the last piece of his heart and self-image was completely destroyed. Love and desire for acceptance changed to unfathomable pain and self-hatred. He did not know how to deal with these horribly negative feelings so he took it out the only way a gladiator-god knows how. Thor learned the lesson of redemption the hard way. Now it seems the brothers have switched roles. I just hope Loki can be reached. He is too beautiful to perish alone in his self-imposed darkness of the soul.

It was never Loki's fault. He was raised in a lie, Oden called him son, Thor called him brother, when he was neither. His heart was pure, but the lies broke it. Loki, the one that never did wrong by Oden, even if he was a frost giant, deserved the right of power more than Thor, who was to drunken to understand that he was pushing his brother away. This is what made me completely fall in love with him. The betrayal was wrong, and his ability to stay tame, was as broken, as his heart.

No, he suffered all his life, and Thor always thinking be better than him, and took all the attention. Loki just wanted to help, destroying the frost giants, and he was one of them! Loki was very brave when he decided to do this. He just wanted to be happy and help Asgard! Why he cannot be happy? Loki have a good heart!

Well it's hard to explain partly he's a villain and partly he's not because when you watch Thor he's been lied too all of those years he thought he was a real brother to Thor but it turned out that he was adopted so he misunderstood and felt unloved and untrusted but on the other hand he decides to take it out on the earth and destroying it there's my opinion he is a villain and he's not a villain

he's not a bad guy or villain because Odin raised him believing he could do great things, then lies to Loki his whole life about who he really is. this upset Loki and he became more hostile and he wanted to prove that he is just as good as or even better than Thor. then there's rivalry between Thor and Loki and since Loki had to live in the shadow of Thor's "greatness" he was always jealous.

Loki never had the intention of becoming 'evil'- he is just incredibly misunderstood and an broken individual. Marvel portrayed Loki as a villain because it made Thor look 'just' (in a sense i suppose). Sure Loki has messed up countless of times; but haven't we all one way or another? Its these mistakes that grant us the 'humanity' that embodies us; as if we were flawless beyond comprehension- we would have no humility or common sense (which isn't so common in this day and age).

In fact, Loki is not heartless and he will never be a heartless, selfish bastard- its just a façade he puts forward to the world so they never see the shattered individual that lurks beneath the surface. He wears that cheek pinching grin with pride, pride that has been artificially created so that he could stand to live that one day longer in the shadow of Thor. If we were to take away his cunning ways, the lies he's told throughout his lifetime, his mistakes (many of which i'm sure he regrets deep down... somewhere), and finally his continuous suffering ever since Odin adopted him as his own son. As a result, we would be left with a broken, mistreated child that would never consider himself to be Thor's equal nor would he consider himself to be one of the 'superior' species (Asgardians).

Envy is what engulfed Loki, what drove him crazy right down to the very essence of his being... he allowed it to boil and bubble away for centuries!! Until it was concentrated enough that he acted irrationally, senseless, without the need to pause and consider the dire consequences that lied in this wake. Maybe it was because he's become acquainted with walking within deaths reach, before slipping out of its grasp before he can be captured. Yes, Loki truly is indeed a tormented soul that deserves forgiveness, redemption, salvation and most importantly love- love that is not out of great pity or sympathy.

Equality, respect and love was all he wanted... how could one think a individual, such as Loki, does NOT deserve these crucial factors as a child, as a teenager, even as an adult. Why throw those necessities away? Only to be replaced by unworthiness, uncertainly, questionable loyalties, no reliability, no support from family and friends... nothing but emptiness. A hunger that cannot be sedated, a thirst that cannot be quenched and a need that cannot be satisfied...
Sorry for the long comment/explanation...

Loki is not evil, he never has been, he's the youngest in his family, living in thor's shadow, and then he finds out that he was adopted... and when he was young he was always shoved outside, mistreated, and just because he looks different. he didn't have any friends, he didn't have anyone/anywhere to turn to for peace. all he wanted was to be accepted and loved, he couldn't get that from his adopted parents since they were too busy shunning him and showering all their affection on thor.

Loki is the god of mischief and trickery, he took to studying magic so he would be able to surpass thor with his magic since he couldn't surpass him with strength (fyi, Loki is stronger than any mortal). when you look inside of Loki, one of the things you will see is someone who is lost, and who desperately wants to be found.

Loki isn't exactly evil, he is just a victim of circumstances and of his own actions. Loki could have been the next Thor if the situation was changed.
Personally I think that Loki has made some poor choices along the way, and you can't say it's not his fault.
He was envious of his elder brother, who was "the favourite" of the family, and he wanted to be the favourite. Loki's actions are actually similar to a temper tantrum when you think of it.

All of his life, Loki was lied to by those he loved. The only parent that spent real time with him was Frigga. He knew Thor was the favorite of Odin. Once Loki found out his true parentage, that elevated his hatred!!! In Thor: The Dark World, when he was brought in chains before Odin, he spoke of his birthright. Odin proceeded to tell him, "your birthright was to die on a frozen rock"!!! Hmmmmm!!! Tell me how you really feel. LOL He's just misunderstood!!!

Loki NEVER was evil. I think on the inside he's a very kind and loving person but just misunderstood. He always walked in Thors shadow, felt like he wouldn't belong there. In my opinion, Loki is a broken soul that just wants to be loved and respected. If Marvel would kill him...that wouldn't be right, it would seem like somebody like him doesn't deserve a second chance. He deserves a person that truly loves him for who he is.
