what would have happened if bella had chosen jacob and he imprinted on someone else?

Ok. Let's say that did happen. Jacob can only imprint on Nessie. If Bella never chose Edward, there would be no Nessie! I see no problem.

If he could imprint on someone other than Nessie, then Bella would be left broken-hearted like Leah, but Edward probably would have come back to her.

If (during New Moon and/or Eclipse) Bella sees the light at the end of the tunnel and decides that she would be better of with Jacob insted of Edward and then Jacob imprints on someone else then I would tell Bella too bad. That is exact same position/hell that Bella put Jacob in. That way she would get a taste of her own medicine!
