On November 3rd, a famous Korean media site, Daily Sports reported that iu sampled Britney Spears’s song without permission from the artist.

The song under pregunta is ‘Twenty Three’ and it is currently accused of sampling ‘Gimme more’ using sounds such as ‘Ah Oh’ from the famous pop artists song from 2007.

The accusation was started por Britney Spears’s fans. A fan of Britney Spears uploaded on an online community saying, “I am positive that the voice canto ‘keep on rocking’ in IU’s song is Britney Spears. Britney’s fans are not complaining only about the ‘Ah Oh’ o the moaning sounds within the song. Those could be just sample CDs readily available for producers and most fans understand that. The real problem is the ‘keep on rocking’ anyone can tell that this is Britney’s voice. Britney has never released sample CDs and this makes me very suspicious.”

IU’s ’23’ is an album bonus track and is not available for download but if it is confirmed that she used these samples without and credits o permission for official sampling it may negatively impact IU’s career and image, especially since iu is listed as lyricist and co-producer.
