The guardians in the sky
“Finally” Spain dicho when he put the escoba in the closet “Cleaning the house sure is an exhausting job”. He looked through the window and realized that the sun has long set por now. Was it really that late? Spain yawned as he walked to his bedroom. He fell down on his queen sized cama and allowed himself to fell into a peaceful slumber.
Unfortunately it didn’t take long before he had to leave the tomate paradise in his dreams as a loud noise woke him up. “What was that?” Spain took a look at the door and listened to the noise. It sounded like the voice of a crying little boy, and it came from Romano’s room. Spain was used to Romano waking him up in the middle of the night. He often woke him up with the loud noises he made in his sleep, but Spain couldn’t help feeling concerned. It sounded like Romano was really scared of something. It broke Spain’s corazón to hear Romano cry so he walked to his room so he could comfort his little brother.
‘’Romano!’’ Spain opened the door, without knocking first. “What’s wrong? Did tu have a nightmare?” Romano turned his head “There’s nothing wrong idiota! I’m not scared at all!” Spain smiled at the young nation “You look like a little tomato. Come on tu can tell me what’s wrong.” Romano tried his best to make Spain believe he was okay, but his face still turned red.
“Please Romano” Spain dicho after a while “be honest and tell me what’s wrong.” Romano finally realized that he was a terrible liar, so he told Spain that he was scared of the dark. “The night is so dark and scary, and……… BWAAAH SPAIN.” The little boy started to cry as he hugged his older brother.
“Come, Romano” Spain dicho “I have to mostrar tu something, maybe it will cheer tu up.” Romano dried his eyes and took Spain’s hand. Together they walked through the big hallways in the big mansion until they entered the garden. “Look Romano.” Spain lifted his little brother and pointed at the sky with his index finger “Do tu see the stars?” Romano nodded. “Do tu know why they’re here? Spain smiled when his little brother shook his head. “Well then I’ll tell you.”
Spain put Romano down and told his story: “The stars are here to protect us. When the sun goes down, everything becomes dark which can be very scary. But then the stars will start to shine. They are our special guardians in the sky. They protect us from the darkness, so we don’t have to be afraid. So whenever you’re scared, tu have to think of the stars okay. ”
Romano smiled and stared at the little lights in the sky. “Fusososososo” he suddenly felt Spain’s fingers tickling him “Spain!” he dicho laughing “Cut it of tu jerk.” Spain lifted up his little brother. “Come let’s go back to bed!” “Only if tu stay with me until I sleep” Romano said. But he already fell asleep in Spain’s arms, before they made it back to his room. Spain put Romano down on his cama and covered him with a warm blanket. He gave him a kiss on his forehead and dicho “Goodnight Romano, may the stars watch over you.”
