“Teen Wolf” cast member Dylan O’Brien is reportedly being considered as the next “Spider-Man” in the upcoming superhero film project. The latest casting reports claim that Sony Pictures to introduce a younger version of “Spider-Man” after actor Andrew Garfield took on the role of the superhero web slinger in “The Amazing Spider-Man” films.

According to a Variety report, the plan for the new “Spider-Man” film is to have the character go back to high school and spend more time in the situation. However, the upcoming film will be exploring on Peter Parker’s awkward relationship with the other students at school while fighting crime as “Spider-Man” outside of the classroom.

Unnamed sources claim that Sony wants to search for a new director first before casting a new actor who will portray the “Spider-Man” role. A couple of actors have already been linked to the new role including “Teen Wolf” star Dylan O’Brien and “Fury” actor Logan Lerman.

Dylan O’Brien, 23, is known for portraying Stiles Stilinski in “Teen Wolf” and male lead character Thomas in the film titled “The Maze Runner.” On the other hand, actor Logan Lerman starred in the comedy-drama film titled “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” opposite Ezra Miller and Emma Watson.

Both O’Brien and Lerman have yet to be approached for the “Spider-Man” role. Marvel plans to introduce the new actor cast as “Spider-Man” in the “Captain America: Civil War” film scheduled to be released in theaters in 2016 before releasing the superhero character’s solo film franchise at Sony in 2017.

According to a Design & Trend report, Logan Lerman is set to appear in the drama film titled “The Wife” which is scheduled to be released in 2016. As for Dylan O’Brien, the young actor is currently busy filming his scenes as Stiles Stilinski in “Teen Wolf” Season 5.

The upcoming new season of MTV’s supernatural series is scheduled to premiere this coming June. The Beacon Hills gang will be dealing with the storylines left hanging in the finale of “Teen Wolf” Season 4 such as the real supernatural identity of Deputy Parrish (Ryan Kelley), Derek’s (Tyler Hoechlin) evolution and the mystery on Malia’s (Shelley Hennig) mom called the “Desert Wolf.”
