I thought they sucked, honestly. I mean, first of all, Ginny's family got jackshit. It's all about Harry and his dead freaking parents that he didn't even know.

Albus Severus? Why not just call the poor thing 'please kick my ass' and be done with it? I'm also not wild about naming your kid after someone, or at least not after someone recent, especially if their full name will be the same. A name is a big part of your identity, being named after someone either still alive or recently known puts people in their shadow. James Potter for example will always be the second James Potter. That's a shame for him, because that comparison will be there for the rest of his life, ad make it harder for him to come into his own.
It's a bit weird too. It would be at least annoying if you and your sibling were named afte a famous COUPLE wouldn't it? Imagine hearing people say something like 'wasn't it cute when James and Lilly Potter smooched? They had such a cute kid together...oh, not you guys, that would be gross...The other, non related Lily and James'
It's also just unimaginitive. Come up with something new, lazy bones!

Indeed. They didn't need to be overly imaginative or original, because they will not have lives beyond that epilogue. The names chosen had special meaning for that book and that book alone, and that's all they needed! I especially loved Albus Severus, because I love Snape, and I'm very glad to see that Harry finally considers him worthy enough to be mentioned in the company of Dumbledore.

I got the emotional part of naming his kids after his parents, Dumbledore, and Snape. I'm glad the wizarding world got to see the kind of men they really were - not just the persona Snape put out and the things Rita Skeeter said about Dumbledore. But I think JK could have been more creative with how she chose to honor them all.
