I was disappointed with the epilogue in DH because it explained nothing other than what the main characters name their children years later... what about the rebuilding of Hogwarts, who gets arrested, what jobs people get and lots more questions that just don't get answered in the books.
My opinion is that the epilogue should be longer with all that stuff at the beginning and finished with the existing one, other wise not mentioned at all.
oh and i know you can find out some of that stuff on the web but its not the same...

I liked it, it explained everything. JK Rowlings is amazing. I don't know why you ppl are dissapointed with it, or why you think it shouldn't exist!

i just want the encyclopedia, overall though the epilogue, now as i see it a year later, is a good fit. back when i first read it i found it a bit weird but i like it now.

yeah it left out a fair bit like i wanted to know what happened to luna i went on wikipedia coz i was doing research for HP and the deathly hallows in english it gives a much better detailed description of what happened

i was dissapointed w/ the end of DH.

In HBP we know what happens 2 dumbldores body. in DH Wel know Snape was mad eheadmaster, surely he should have had a decnt send off like dumbles. its incomplete not knowing what happened to snapes body. did they leave him in the Shrieking Shack or was he given a proper send off?

it's never enough to know more about Harry and co.

I would suck and be boring if it was just rambling on about what their lives were like afterwards. I like how she kept it brief with still lots of information.

I was looking for the option: "Yes, but she should have put in more info", because even with the lack of info, it was pretty good! I loved it when Harry watches his kids leave on the train <3

If it said too much it would not seem to fit in at all. If you really want to know what happened to certain characters, read her post DH interviews. She holds NOTHING back nowadays. I personally thought it was beautiful, and I cried when he took Al to the side to talk to him and we heard his name....

I found it way too corny! but it was adapted beautifully in the film!

It gave the story closure and it went full circle. If it had included as much extra information and some fans want (basically all the stuff JKR revealed in various interviews later) it'd have been way too much of an exposition dump and wouldn't read well.
